Guest guest
good news! i did not need any reduction or surgery as my fracture is radial and is stable --like a splintered chicken bone..hanging by a thread. the hairline one is also stable and essentially a non issue, i picked a basic black cast which will be removed for x rays in 2 weeks, and probably reapplied. in the cast room was a guy with the exact same fracture. he got it boxing--and this fracture is called 'the boxer' as that is how most of them occur. falling while vacuuming doesn't rate a name--except maybe clumsy. the hard cast leaves my thumb, index and middle fingers free--the swelling went down considerably and i am black and blue on the palm where the bone bled. i don't need a sling. the cast is made of fiberglass, so not that heavy. it goes 3/4 down my forearm. thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. they are working! love,
