I thought that was a mistake. Dateline is NBC. I will be going to NY. for an interview too. It will be nice to meet you there. My feeling is that we are going to have over 100 emails a day for a while. Hope we can handle it. It will be very interesting to see just how many people really have Misophonia and what the responses will be! This is going to be a game changer...Mike L.

I want to correct the title of the show, it is ABC 20/20.

I am not much of a tv watcher so I was a bit confused.

Apparently Dateline is something else.

So call it 20/20, Vargas will be the interviewer.

How are we going to handle all the newcomers, people?

I couldn't agree more. It would be great to present that site to the producers of 20/20 to give to the audience. The thing is we all have to start posting there instead so when people come there's someone to talk to Sent from my iPhone

Isn't there a traditional message-board style forum on www.misophonia.info?

I think that type of forum is much better suited for the high volume of posts and replies. Perhaps you direct the incoming heavy traffic to that forum.

Maybe we could have a private page and we can break up in to groups. Voluntering

to adress emils that we feel that we relate to the most. Or advise people to use

the subject are to identify their worst triggers. Enviromental, machines,

bodily, reppetitive sounds ect.. also if they are more asulted at work, home. By

friends or toher. I don't know, just brain storming.

I'd rather use the message board! What does everyone else think about migrating our conversations to the message board? It's more organized topic-wise, so you can choose a category, instead of posting in a general discussion style, which is all we have in the yahoo group. This may be too complicated but what about a group of "greeters."A group of people who would be willing to email back and forth with new members to answer questions and just talk with them about what they are dealing with. I think if the group varies in age, gender, marital status, children, and other diagnoses we can help them work their way around this site and through all the information and different treatments we all have tried or in the process of trying. We don't all suffer the same and maybe being

able to talk to someone who has the same symptoms/issues will be beneficial to them and even for us. Amelia To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wednesday, February 29, 2012 10:16 AM Subject: Re: 20/20 Show is happening on Misophonia CORRECTION

I don't think there's any need to complicate it more when there's already a simple solution already in place. Perhaps we get someone to add/edit the message board categories on the misophonia.info site. The board is already there - we just need someone to add maybe a "triggers" forum and break that forum down into auditory/visual triggers, etc. That way, people seeking help can find specific categories that address their individual needs. I think we should be posting everywhere. Those who watch the 20/20 show will look for us on Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, the Misophonia website --- wherever. We should be at all sites to greet them, then perhaps direct them to Misophonia.info.

If everyone moves from here to a message board, I won't be joining you.I understand the benefits of a message board style. I've used them frequently in the past.

But personally, I can't handle one more website to check. I LIKE that this come to my e-mail.I have 10 chronic conditions and am bedridden. Some days I have NO energy and don't read e-mails that come in. Some day I read every single e-mail as it comes. I have full control over that when they all come to my e-mail... if I don't want to read for a week, I can still read every single message without missing a reply.... it's not that easy in a message board.

I have 17 different folders where e-mails are directed... most are medical... I have a group for misophonia, two for neuropathy, etc... e-mail is what works for me... I value the support from this group... but if it moves away from e-mail and to another website, I won't be able to come along...

I’m set up the same way, with all of this group’s emails (all threads) going into a separate folder and then I can easily read & reply to them.  If I needed to go to a separate website, I wouldn’t even know if there’s been any activity there since I checked the last time, and if not, then I just wasted my time checking. I don’t have to go to extra effort or time when emails just show up in my folder when there’s been activity.  That said, I know this is what works best for me, but not for everyone, so I don’t know what the solution would be that would work for everyone.
