Guest guest
Wondering if any one has treated lipoedema? The condition has a vague etiology with virtually no treatment in the allopathic community besides compression stockings and lymph-drainage massage. It is generally thought to be an abnormal deposition of subcutaneous fat with associated oedema- occuring spontaneous and eventually leading to chronic lymph blockage. There also seems to be an hormonal effect where estrogens cause an increase in the storage of fluid in the connective tissue along with a loosening of the tissue. It evidently does not have a metabolic connection although I can't imagine that diet would not have some effect. The woman who has contacted me re: this has an incredible medical history including Severe sexual abuse, Adenmyosis with a subsequent hysterectomy, followed by a diagnosis of Gist- gastro-intestinal stromal tumors which seem to be benign at the moment. She is on a raft of psych meds- for anxiety etc. She sees a physical therapist weekly, a massage therapist and is doing pool exercises as its mostly effecting the lower half of the body. Looking for symptomatic relief at this moment. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks all- _________________________________________________________________ Make distant family not so distant with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/digitallife/keepintouch.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC\ _VideoChat_distantfamily_012008
Guest guest
Dear - Thanks for taking the time to reply to my query. Although I'm not a Chinese herbalist, you've given me a starting place and will look into the energetic areas that you've suggested. She is seeing an acupuncturist in conjunction to investigating the herbal route. I think that the tendency is to seek out as much information, as far as treatment possibilities when faced with chronic issues- it makes it difficult to know if what you've suggested is really helping or not. Hopefully all treatments can work synergistically. Thanks again- _________________________________________________________________ Shed those extra pounds with MSN and The Biggest Loser! http://biggestloser.msn.com/
