Guest guest
Dr, Marsha , My personal thank you for focusing and gathering data to define these issues of " personality annomalies " . I have too much on my plate at the time to be of any assistance. One focus group is " genius minds " ...highly creative...high IQ I can attest to sounds during moments of concentration.. will " trigger " these type of people...to respond more than normal. I was part of an informal group about 20 years ago with the criteria... classified as " child prodigy material by age 12 " We discussed this subject of sound reactions at length... and assumed it had no real definition or understanding. We concluded when the " creative genius part of the mind " when surpressed for too long... makes these " quirks become more amplified " until some manner/excercise of release/recognition occurs. We did observe this behavior in several cases... as symptoms would come and go...almost at random. The most remarkable scenario I have ever observed... a three year old girl...born with " Roazanne Bar " attittude... (that is best description) and by chance/accident she heard French Opera on the FM radio. In 5 seconds she calmed to normal 3 year old behaviour. Whe the " Rozanne Bar " attitude returned in about a week.... 10 minutes of time out with French Opera...would " reset her " The family..parents and grandparents...did NOT watch the program From before the day she was born. They were able to contact an excellent therapist...if only to observe and document the child. Your projected goals...are " admirable and noble " I hope it does NOT over-whelm you and other staff members.
