Guest guest
That was funny- thanks for sharing:) It bothers me when my husband plops on the bed and I can feel it, or when he throws his ipad on the bed and it makes a little thump- that bothers me To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 10:48 AMSubject: Group Question Hi all,Just wondering if any of us have any other things in common. Does anyone have any issues with certain touches? By that I mean when I'd sit on the couch or wherever with a friend or family member and their toe was touching me I would shout "TOE" and they'd move away. I have a close friend who also started saying "toe" to me when I was touching her. (I think more out of kidding around with me). One day I was riding with her as a passenger in her car down IL 90 and she says to me in a regular voice "toe". I kinda looked at her and thought "whatever, I'm way over here". She said it again and I said "What are you talking about, I'm not touching you" and she said TOLL! I need money for the TOLL!" We still laugh about it.I have another friend I call "The Enunciator". Kinda bugs me how she enunciates everything but I just kid her about it.And for Kirsten - I have neighbors who play loud bass next store and it goes through my walls and through every fiber of my being. They speak Spanish and some English and are really very nice so I try to ignore it but we all know how long that lasts so I eventually just go over and nicely ask them to turn it down. Thanks for the heads up on the 20/20 interviews coming up. Looking forward to seeing that.My Loud Talking co-worker is off today, so I'm doing an Irish jig.Everyone have a nice and quiet weekend.Sharon> >> > People! > > > > We enjoy free speech. Guest guest
Well I also hate if someone touches me, even my own family. My mom used to call me hedgehog. The only people excluded are my husband and son and they are not very touchy.

Does anyone have any issues with certain touches? -createyourday03 I like being touched in every way if it's a chick however, I am incredibly uncomfortable touching any dude, even beyond the point in which men don't like to be touched by eachother. I'm also very uncomfortable hugging my parents or coming into contact with my brother; I have to 'wipe' my hand over any place he may bump unto me here and there because It almost feels like I'm being violated or something, just cuz someone bumps into me. Guest guest
I have always thought feet were yucky too- that's weird - wonder if anyone else feels that way To: "Soundsensitivity " <Soundsensitivity > Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 11:06 AMSubject: Re: Group Question I also have an issue with certain touches, especially when my daughter is laying with me and touches me with her socks it drives me bonkers. I know that sounds crazy but feet in general are yucky to me and it is nice to know that with the noise issues that i am not the only one out there that gets so upset by it. Guest guest
I have some issues related to other senses, but they are less bothersome than misophonia, both in intensity and in the number of trigger items. Relating to sight, it really irritates me to see someone repeatedly moving their body, like when the legs are crossed and they swing the top leg. I have to close my eyes or block the view with a book or the computer screen or sometimes just my hands. As for touch, my problem is more with indirect touch. Examples are someone bumping my chair or bed or someone lying on the bed with me who is moving (shaking their leg, for example. > > > > > > People! > > > > > > We enjoy free speech. Guest guest
Interesting- I calm right down too when my husband rubs my hand- it's immediate To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Friday, March 16, 2012 1:43 PMSubject: Re: Group Question I have issues with touch, too. But I also have Asperger's Syndrome. I do not do well with anyone touching me with their finger tips. It has to be a flat, opened hand and have some pressure behind it. The softer the touch the more it upsets my senses. I'm okay with some soft touching, though. Like I calm right down when my husband very lightly brushes the inside of my arms with his fingers. It keeps me from getting all cranked up.I have a lot of sensitivities but I have to admit, the Misophonia is by far the most horrible part of it. > > >> > > People! > > > > > > We enjoy free speech.
