Hi,

Hi

I have been approached by lady who has Parkinsons Disease. She has

recently read an article which advocates the use of MUCUNA PRURIENS

(velvet bean). Does anybody have any suggestions as to where MUCUNA

PRURIENS might be sourced?

Many thanks for your help

Dear ,

I have tried it on my mum a couple(?) of years ago. There has been a transitory

improvement in her general functioning for about 8-10 months, no a dramatic

improvement. She is now on a different combination of herbs which do make a lot

of difference to her ability to speak: she takes maca (from a health food shop

- expensive), Uncaria tomentosa and a mix of Ginkgo, Epimedium, Siberian ginseng

and another herb which I cannot remember. She's been taking this combination for

3 months now and for the first time in years reports consistently feeling very

well.

I hope it helps

Has anyone here had any experience of using the above? I have an old patient,

based in Stansted, Essex, who has contacted me regarding the above. He has

Parkinson's Disease and has started taking Mucuna pruriens but would like

ideally to talk to a herbalist who has some experience of using this, which I

haven't.

Is there anyone who might be able to help, either to offer him a consultation in

the Stansted area or to email information that I could pass on to him?

Many thanks.

Hi

hope youre well.

not much to tell you apart from the fact I had a patient with early parkinsons

and we tried the recommended combination of mucuna and tribulus powders for

quite a number of months with no discernible difference in Sx ( tremor was the

only sx she had at the time) but that doesnt mean it wouldnt help someome else

of course.

Thanks, everyone, for replies re: my patient with Parkinsons.

, I can't remember whereabouts you live, could you let me know please

and contact details so that I can pass them? I'm not sure that he would be able

to get to you, but I'm sure he would appreciate the contact.

Many thanks.
