Guest guest
Hi everyone, it's so good to have the group back. I have a few questions, that have probably been answered already, but anyway here they are: 1.. How do I know what dosage of Minocin to take? 2.. How long does the Herx effect lasts? Like I've said in my previous messages, I feel so much worse. I can't sleep at night since I've started Minocin. I even added two aspirins at bedtime to ease the pain. I feel like i'm back where I was before I started Methotrexate two years ago. I had pain in my neck, shoulders, I couldn't bend my knees. After starting Metho I felt better but now I feel like I have to start all over again. Like some of you told me, it's probably a Herx, that I should hang in there because it is working... I have to see my Rheumy in two months... she'll probably want to stop AP and right now I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea... Answers to my questions would greatly be appreciated. Guest guest
just a word here... i recently changed to a D.O. - thinking what liz said is true - and in my case my D.O. doesn't know a 'thing' about candida - dieets,,,, or anything of the nature we all speak of here.... there are D.O.'s who do - but you should probably question them before you go there by phone.... just my 2 cents wendy RE: questions, questions... ,$350.00 sounds realy high for a first visit. I live in the U.S. in PA. Maybe the cost of living is high where you live, could that be an explanation? What can this doctor do for you? Does he specialize in anything? That may be the reason. Can you check around for better cost? Or don't you have a choice? I know many areas are limited on doctors with knowledge on these matters but any Ostheopathic Doctor-(D.O.) would do. LIZ questions, questions... Hey everyone, Just a few questions...any input at all would be appreciated. First of all, can you go to work while suffering from die-off? I work as a cashier at a big dept. store, where I stand on my feet for 8 hours on end and lift heavy objects (jumbo boxes of detergent or 40 lb. bags of dogfood, large boxes full of metal or wood objects, etc.) Although I now have large muscles on my arms, it's been exausting lately. I can't call in sick (3 sick calls=unemployment). Plus I'm a student in college, and can't miss my classes. I'm about to embark on my anti-fungal journey, so I want to be prepared. Second, I've been informed by my doctor that the first visit will be $350.00. Is this outrageous, or should I suck it up and pay the bill? I'm already strapped for cash! I had $1500.00 in savings in the bank for education... but that was before the candida, now all of that cash goes for bills =-(. And lastly, has anyone heard of a drug called Sporanox? It's Itraconazole, which I'm thinking sounds like the same family Diflucan is in. My podiatrist gave me a bunch of samples to treat a growth on the top of my toe, which he says he can't tell if it's " viral or fungal " . Gee, that's a hard one! But he knows nothing about Candida, I just go to him for the treatment of ingrown toenails, and of course my new friend the planter's wart. I don't plan on taking it due to the other anti-fungals, but I would like to know about it since it's a newer drug. He informed me that it's very expensive, and told me to bring it back if I didn't use it. As if the cost wasn't covered in the damn bill anyway! And how expensive is a sample given to him by a drug rep? I don't believe he's charged for that, so I will keep it out of spite if nothing else! =-) *** *** __________________________________________________
