Guest guest
Dear Diane, > I have an appointment with a dr. next week who is open to IV's, clindy, > etc. That's a very good move. The clindamycin really gives a 'punch' to the therapy. The protocols for the IV clindamycin or lincocin are in question 2 of our FAQ. > I finally gave in today and took my first prednisone, Dr. Brown used prednisone where necessary. He used 5mg for preference, certainly less than 10mg. You could stay on the prednisone to keep the pain and inflammation down until you have very little pain left. That would then be the time to start tapering off, not before. My daughter took 7.5 mg prednisone for eleven months at the same time as starting the antibiotics, and then was able to taper off with no trouble - she's the same age as you. > her antibiotics or IV's is what I need, or maybe I'm not good enou > gh about sticking to the diet. I just know that I'm scared and I The diet certainly helps. The main points are plenty of fresh vegetables, preferably raw, little or no sugar, at least eight glasses of water a day, no greasy junk food. Did your doctor do an ASO test for streptococcus infection? Any other infections in teeth, throat, gut? Candida, leaky gut? All need treatment to get your body back in balance. There are herbals around to help with most of the problems. Have you tried therapeutic massage to move the toxins out? Good elimination? The hydrogen peroxide baths? All help to settle the body down. Let us know how you get on with the IVs and prednisone. I can't help you with your decision, but the others will probably tell you that methotrexate isn't going to help the disease. I hope you feel better soon. Chris.
