Guest guest
I have just successfully rehabbed my first post-op TPLO (it was like the bat mitzvah I never had), and was given a warning by the surgeon to be careful because in her experience, " aggressive rehab after TPLO causes patellar tendonitis. " After 9 weeks of very careful rehab, the surgeon performed her 10 week recheck, and was very pleased with the dog's clinical outcome and rehabilitation (she is now routinely recommending post op rehab). However, she did note moderate patellar thickening on 10 week rads. We both agreed that the dog does not appear to be experiencing a tendinitis, but neither of us are clear on what would cause that degree of thickening (an " -osis/-opathy " of some sort?). Anyway, told her I would post it to this group, and she and I are very interested to hear any thoughts. I can email the 10 week post op and pre-op films if anyone is interested.
