Guest guest
I have the sensitivity issues as well. Walking on carpet can prove to be VERY hard at times, not all the time but sometimes just the feeling of carpet makes me shiver and other people dragging their feet makes me want to cry. I get very sensitive skin after taking a shower (no matter what, I use natural shampoo and soap and still get very irritated afterwards) and washing dishes hurts me hands as well. > > I am so thankful to know that there are others like me out there. > > > It all started some time when I was a child, I can remember putting the cereal boxes across the table in an effort to block out my brother while he was eating breakfast. He is still one of the most annoying eaters I know. Also, he used to eat ice cubes...crunch, crunch, I'm sure you can imagine how irritating that was. > > Sometimes I just get so irritated with people especially gum chewers that I just wish I could punch and scream at them. > > I am also sensitive to fabrics, I can only sleep with flannel sheets on my bed and I have to wear socks so that I don't feel the fabric against my feet all night. Guest guest
Oh, thank god. I am not the only one going through these strange skin sensitivities. I use natural shampoo now because I started to get really sensitive to the strong smell of regular shampoo. I dont have much carpet in my house but I have noticed that feeling on some carpets. I like to wear slippers in the winter when I can. My mother filing her nails gives me a shiver right up my spine and I have to immediately ask her to stop. > > > > I am so thankful to know that there are others like me out there. > > > > > > It all started some time when I was a child, I can remember putting the cereal boxes across the table in an effort to block out my brother while he was eating breakfast. Guest guest
I'm getting neurofeedback treatments for my misophonia, and in the initial assessment they asked me if certain fabrics and clothing bother me. They don't bother me, but maybe others have that as well. I'm going to keep everyone posted on how the neurofeedback is working. So far I notice I'm sleeping through the night better- more deeply. Nothing for the miso so far but it's only been 6 treatments. Welcome to the group! To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 2:42 PM Subject: All these things irritate the hell out of me!! Guest guest
Although my skin is not sensitive after washing dishes, I hate it when my fingernails get rubbed by the dishcloth! And those ULTRA-soft fabrics (like microfiber and that fleecy fabric used to make some stuffed animals) just give me the creeps when I touch them! Guest guest
I hate fleece and micro fiber. My daughter can't stand the feel of newly washed jeans. Guest guest
I'd like to hear how your treatments go, it would be great to get some relief. > > I'm getting neurofeedback treatments for my misophonia, and in the initial assessment they asked me if certain fabrics and clothing bother me. Guest guest
I guess we all have our things, those microfiber cloths feel really strange to me too. I can't stand the rough edge of my nail after they have been trimmed, so I have to sort of pick at my nail along the side and pull the nail across; its weird I know. Then if I make it too short the skin there feels extra sensitive for a day and sometimes I'll even have to put on a band-aid to protect it, it just drives me so crazy. > > Although my skin is not sensitive after washing dishes, I hate it when my fingernails get rubbed by the dishcloth!
