Guest guest
" We eat in front of the TV to help with the sounds and she even stops eating while we fast forward through commercials " I have to do this for dinner too, I make my husband stop eating while I get the dvd player set up, I'll turn the channel or mute an annoying commercial. > I hate to say this but you may not be able to bring your friends around to understanding. My friends don't get it and I've flat out said to them that their eating behaviors are part of the problem, and they still do it and I know they aren't doing it on purpose. I guess they may not realize they are evening doing it.  On the other hand my mom was the one who saw the Today Show clip and showed me, so she's more understanding.  We eat in front of the TV to help with the sounds and she even stops eating while we fast forward through commercials.  We still have problems with mindless noises that she doesn't realize she's making but when I point them out she's willing to stop.  She does get frustrated when I try to talk to her about stuff because it's a lot to take in at once (I also have SPD). > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: Soundsensitivity > Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2012 7:24 PM > Subject: My best friend? > > >  > Bree again, > I still haven't said anything to my dad but I tried telling my best friend just to sort of see what would happen and she didn't seem to take it too seriously. She just said 'Oh that happens to a lot of people.' and I don't know how to make her understand, no this is insane it affects my life everyday and drives me to the point of horrible thoughts. > But I'm also wondering if maybe I should just forget about that and just tell my dad? >
