Guest guest
Hi Rebeca and Group,In a few day I will find out if I have Multiple Sclerosis.I checked on the EN site to see if there is a connection with EN and MS. I didn't see that question in my old emails. So I went to some search endings that I use and found that those with Shingles have a greater chance of developing MS with in a year of having Shingles. I was surprised to see that those with MS have EN. I looked at the link you, Rebeca, sent me when I asked "If shingles cause EN." that was back in '09. Your list said yes.In '09 I was diagnosed with Post Shingles Neuralgia. Now I'm not sure what it was. I also, had my EN then.I had a MRI on my head and found out that I had a spattering of white matter. So the doctor has to read the test results to tell in if it is MS. There is a new treatment for MS so I hope it will help me if I have MS. Then I was thinking if those with MS have EN maybe the new MS med would also, help EN.I don't remember the name if the new medicine but I heard about it on ABC world news a couple of Fridays ago. Rebeca maybe you can look into it. I'll let you know what my doctor says. Take Care,Marilyn
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, Thanks for bringing this interesting new treatment for MS to our attention. I found that quite a bit of MS research is going on http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/sections/multiple_sclerosis/ So often a treatment for one disorder helps another, so I'll be watching to see how this works out. It seems that inflammation is the common denominator in so many seemingly unrelated disorders. If it turns out that you do have MS and take the new treatment, please let us know how it goes. I hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Hi ,I went to the Doctor. He didn't think I have MS. but, I did have a small stroke in that area of my brain. He is doing some more tests but he is pretty sure I don't have MS. But, I still think the MS drug might help people with EN by the way it reduces the autoimmune response.Take Care,Marilyn To: erythema_nodosum_group From: marilynrwoodruff@...Date: Mon, 16 Jan 2012 13:26:12 -0500Subject: RE: Re: EN and Multiple Sclerosis Hi ,I found out the name of the new drug that was talked about on ABC World News. Guest guest
That's good news, but of course you'll need to make sure you don't have any more strokes. I think there are medications for that--maybe blood thinners. Strokes are not associated with EN, but that new MS drug may be helpful if it controls the autoimmune response.Love,http://poems2order.wordpress.com/Please enter Erythema Nodosum.........Thanks!From: Marilyn Woodruff Subject: RE: Re: EN and Multiple SclerosisTo: erythema_nodosum_group Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 10:15 AM Hi ,I went to the Doctor.
