I only have three living children. It has been a long hard haul the past seven months. I separated from my wife and took the children to another nearby town and started to raise them like they needed. Beyond the problems in the marraige due to her inability to cope with the children's autism the children needed to be in a place where they could not get to anything that had gluten or casien in it and they could get their supplements and meds regularly. Anyway my children have the same problem with being thirsty. I wish I could tell you why but I am trying to be careful that they are not using the drinking to be a meal replacement so they don't have to deal with eating things they don't want. To deal with the refusal to eat issue I use the drink as a bargaining tool. For every bite the eat of something they don't really want they get one or two swallows of their drink. (Usually something sweet) When it is an issue of just wanting a drink I always offer water first. Sometimes they drink the water happily sometimes they choose to wait me out. I figure that they were not really that thirsty if they refused the water. I also try to find a snack for them if they refuse because I really believe that they are really hungry but ask for a drink to get around the texture issue. Guest guest
I can't answer your question because we didn't have that problem. However, there is a web site just for kids on the gfcf diet and someone there can answer it. Go to and sign up for theGFCF Recipes group. Blessings! Guest guest
Have you tried digestive enzymes in lieu of the diet? Some have had great success with these. you can try www.houstonni.com for information. It's worth checking out if you'd rather not go through the hassle of a gf/cf lifestyle. Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, My daughter has been on a Gluten and Casein Free diet since Oct. 2000. She is now 7 1/2 years old and diagnosed with autism 4 1/2 years go. I too, always thought that she had an incredible thirst. She got through 1 1/2 litres of squash per week.I discovered a group called Autism Diet here in the UK and through this group I found that I also needed to remove Monosodium Glutamate from her diet too. I removed this substance in the summer of 2001 and now she drinks just like an everyday child. This group do have a website www.autismdiet.co.uk take a look. We live in the UK. Please feel free to contact me and ask your questions. I am no expert as such, apart from following this diet for the past two and a bit years. But the group that we belong to is absolutely wonderful, there are so many willing and helpful people that use the Forum. You can use the forum on the website free of charge - but they do prefer you to be a member. You get an information pack re the diet and it only costs sterling£10.00 per annum, you also get quarterly magazines sent to you , that contains up-to-date info and articles. I wish you and all the members of this group a very Happy Christmas and New Year. Carol Re: Diet > To all those it may concern, > I need to know who is doing the GF/CF diet with their child? Guest guest
eat meat and vegetables and get a high quality olive oil and sea salt and cayenne to season your food and you are all set. it sounds grim but honestly, you get used to it. the more you cheat, the longer it takes to get well. Guest guest
Doesn't sound grim at all - in fact it sounds (and is) delicious! Will you be adding any carbohydrates back into your diet soon? Guest guest
Alison, I want to get totally well and for me the indicators of that would be that throughout the whole month, besides my period, my secretions are totally clear, with no milky secretions, AND that every morning when I wake up there is no or very very little coating on my tongue in the morning. If I quit before I have that result, I'm afraid that I will go right back to the way I was, with yeast infections every two weeks. Thus, I keep on going. I would like to be well for a good month or so, and be really sure that I am clear of a systemic problem, not just symptoms, before I stop the antifungals and start with probiotics again. so no, I do not plan to add starches back until I get my results. I do eat squash though, almost every day and there are a fair amount of carbs in them. I also eat one onion (grilled) and an avocado every day. These foods are delicious and what with whatever meat I am eating, I stay full. I eat a lot of food though - huge salads, whole plates of green beans, etc. but I am satisfied. My mom came to visit me this weekend and she says she thinks I look more healthy than ever, though she was upset I would not drink a coffee with her... ha. I did try a little sip of coffee the other day and it did not taste so good anymore, especially when it is black. another thing I discovered recently is cabbage. I eat almost every day is I get a bag of shredded cabbage for cole slaw from the market and coat it in olive oil and then salt it with sea salt. sometimes I chop an avocado into that. when I eat that, I am more regular. It adds bulk and the olive oil greases the organs and insides of the intestines, I suppose. cheers. > From: Alison <ali-may@...> > Reply-candidiasis > Date: Tue, 11 Feb 2003 15:52:34 +1300 > candidiasis > Subject: Re: diet > > Doesn't sound grim at all - in fact it sounds (and is) delicious! > > Will you be adding any carbohydrates back into your diet soon? > > Ali > > At 06:19 p.m. 10/02/2003 -0800, you wrote: >> eat meat and vegetables and get a high quality olive oil and sea salt and >> cayenne to season your food and you are all set. it sounds grim but >> honestly, you get used to it. the more you cheat, the longer it takes to get >> well. Guest guest
I second that. I get good results from lo-starch veggies, fish, chicken, eggs, red meat, and flax+olive oil, lemon... This is also the Chinese dietary prescription for candida/parasites: " Gu Diet " . D

Guest guest
The only time Ive never eaten salads, raw veggies etc is when the water is suspect & the water is needed to wash the food because of the danger in picking up typhoid or the like from countries such as Hong Kong & Bangkok. I eat these foods every day. Is there a danger of food contamination where you come from? Jan [ ] RE: diet Has anyone been told not to eat salad or raw veggies with aldisease? Guest guest
Hi Jan, I have read that you can rinse the salad or veggies in hydrogen peroxide and then rinse it well with water. I am too lazy to do it, but is anyone else doing it? It is to kill any viruses or bacteria on them. Guest guest
Sharon....there is no reason to stop eating lettuce and raw veggies if you have AIH...I I've never heard of such a thing.....in fact you should eat even better with liver disease to promote regeneration of liver cells. You might want to watch your salt intake a little closer. I have just sent you a site with general rules for eating with liver disease. Watch for it and open it when you see it. As says....bon apetit. love jerry
Guest guest
Dear Galen Yes. My GI told me to avoid those things and legumes because my meds already play havoc with my system, the gas was causing extreme pain and those foods create gas. I do notice a difference - he also said no fresh apples. It's hard because it seems contrary to healthly eating but I also have to limit my fluid intake to 48oz a day. My other drs agree so I do. Guest guest
Amy, try peeling apple before you eat them. I can handle them without the peel, but not with it. Same with pears. Guest guest
Hi For my daughter it's not about veggies or not. It's about balancing the acids in your body with alkaline foods. Eat whatever you want but try to have a Ph around 7 so the body doesn't go acid is what helps Jackie. In the morning your stomach is acid so to add on more acid (like orangejuice) makes it worse but water wtih lime is alkaline and balances the Ph back to more neutral. Junk food often doesn't have a lot of nutrition and thats why we give Jackie things like nonijuice or Xengo. Your body is a echological system and we notice it works better when we support the system with things it need rather than too much toxins and empty foods. But I am glad junkfood doesn't bother your Jra. When I small child gets an illness I think it's important to try and look longterm on the body. It should last for an other 80 years hopefully and not colaps 20 years from now. About the diet that the people in the western world eat today, I think reasurch has started to prove that the food is to fat, to sweet and without alot of the vitamins and minerals we need. We all do what we think is best for us and I am glad I have found something that workes for Jackie since the drugs alone just made her worse. All the best from , mum to Jackie 6 with syst.poly. >From: superstahlisa@... >Reply- > >Subject: Re: Re:Interview Arthritis Survivor Margie Garrison >Date: Fri, 30 May 2003 11:07:13 EDT > >I was on a special diet for GERD for like a year and a half and it was >similar to what she's talking about for JRA.. and to be honest I ended up in a >horrible flare. Guest guest
Hi Connie hang in there. i have the hardest time with the diet as well. I pratically cry because I don't know what to eat. i'm going to try three-lac I heard you don't have to be so strict on your diet. You might want to give it a try. Someone told me this suggestion go ahead buy some plain sugar free yogurt throw some blueberries in it and add some stevia. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds delicious. If it makes you feel better I was eating stuff that had no sugar in it, but had a-lot of carbohydrates. Who knew carborhydrates were a form of sugar. The good thing about this diet is it won't last forever. good health - Jill Connie Green <conniefarley@...> wrote: I am really struggling again with the diet. How strict do I have to be? Guest guest
If anyone would like samples of ThreeLac, they may contact me and I will send some--I know what it is like to spend $ on things that don't work. This product is so unbelievable on helping so many symptoms of candida--that I want to spread the word. In fact, I have improved hearing that resulted from candida--and my 7 year old daughter has not had 1 ear infection this summer even though she is swimming every day. Before I started her on the ThreeLac in May, she received an ear infection in March from swimming once at a hotel. She also had constant ear infections this past winter and last summer. If anyone knows someone with constant ear infections---ThreeLac is definitely worth a try! You may go to my website @ www.ghtdirect.com/lbumholtz for further information regarding ThreeLac. It is so very exciting. You may also contact me regarding my experience, if you would like, at any time. Good luck everyone searching for candida solutions! I think anyone trying ThreeLac will eradicate/kill candida! Re: diet Hi Connie hang in there. i have the hardest time with the diet as well.
