Guest guest
Thanks, I took a look, they allow milk products on the phase one plan, hmm, milk products make my sinus go crazy. And the only protein sources for phase one seems to be animal products. I don't use any animal products. help, I think I need big help here. Guest guest
I avoid dairy completely myself, due to the sinus problems. We have some vegetarians and at least one vegan here who will probably be able to help you next time they are on. There is a lot of different information out there, and our bodies are all different, so remember that what you hear or see won't always apply to you. You'll see grousing about that if you look in the archives. =) I can't remember if you said you've looked at Dr. Crook's book " The Yeast Connection " , but it's great. He also has a Yeast Connection cookbook and a Yeast Connection and Women book I have that someday I should read. Those are all a pretty good place to start. Guest guest
Carol, being southern, one of the things I most long for is good barbeque. With the sugar in barbeque, both restaurant and bottled, I have stayed away from it. The recipe in there, SUGARLESS FOR LIFE by Brennan, is one that will bring people to your door when you are cooking it as it smells just divine. It is made within minutes and could not be easier. So far, I have not made one single thing out of this healthy book which is not mouthwatering. My entire family eats this and I no longer even bother buying the bottled stuff. Good luck and I hope and Nobles has it in stock. I think that is where I found my copy. Hugs, SurfcityCL@... wrote: > , > Thanks for recommending the cookbook. Guest guest
I believe I purchased this book at and Noble but would not swear on that. But that is usually where I find my books. The complete title is SUGARLESS FOR LIFE WITH THE BRENNANS by Ellen C. Brennan. It is a large paperback and costs about $23.50, I think. One of the best values for my money I have ever done. Hope you have no trouble finding it. Bob Zarn wrote: > , Where can you get this book? Guest guest
THATS IT!!! I am going to buy the book. I have had great and I do mean great restraint in not buying it for what? - a week and a half. Then you had to go and talk about it again. I promised myself not one more cookbook. Maybe it could be an early Christmas gift? Does that fly. How about my treat for Halloween. That flys a little better. Hugs, Pam
Guest guest
You have to try the barbeque sauce. It is excellent. Like our diet says, when it calls for milk, I substitute rice milk, cheese is substituted by the veggie cheese etc. etc. I think knowing that one can eat well, not hurt and still GET well is part of this emotional and mental process. I don't know if any of those calls for soy sauce but the Tamari Sauce is wheat free and tastes the same. You probably already know this, however, Good eating! Guest guest
There are many differences between carnivores and herbivores. While their digestive tracts of all mammals have essentially the same equipment, the different portions of them operate at different temperatures & Ph's than do humans. And, wild animals get plenty of exercise, which we don't. Further, they don't cook their food. Regardless, their metabolisms were designed for their diet. Most humans don't eat the diet their equipment was designed for. The thing that settled for me whether or not we are supposed to eat animal products is this: Any alien protein the body doesn't want gets surrounded by mucous, and all anumal products are mucous generating foods. Meaning, IMO, that our body doesn't really like them. Do I eat meat? Yes, some, not very much. jim Mike E Cornwall wrote: > > Jim > I wonder why carnivores don't develop an overly-acidic condition? Guest guest
So, he's saying don't eat Mc's becuz it wasn't around back then? Well, I've only been here twice, and I don't know what I used to eat in Atlantis... Any ideas on this? Interesting theory though; I'm not a big Lazaris fan, but who knows, maybe it has some validity. angelkat " Establish your own dietary routine. For some, a vegetarian diet is what you need. A macrobiotic diet is suitable for some. Get on one that feels healthy to you. Each of you has a heritage. This may be the first lifetime in this culture. Maybe you've been an oriental before. This has more to do with spiritual routes. Some have shamanistic backgrounds, other European. This heritage isn't in this lifetime. It is an etheric route and is part of you in every lifetime. You don't have to definitely know your heritage. Try different diets and see which works for you. Establish a regime that you feel is healthy and stick with it for twenty one days. Guest guest
: Here's a quick rundown of what I eat on a daily basis. I try to rotate my foods as I have some food allergies, and fear developing any new ones. I've gotten used to having proteins and veggies for breakfast 3 to 4 times a week. I'll have a turkey breast or chicken breast with spinach or broccoli. Sometimes I just bake a sweet potato for breakfast, and put a little cinnamon on it. I also make buckwheat pancakes on occasion, or waffles with buckwheat, millet or spelt. Then, once every week or two I'll have oatmeal. I also have a big veggie omelette once a week. For lunches, I'll have tuna fish with tomatoes, or tuna fish with avocadoes on homemade teff or buckwheat crackers, big salads with olive oil and lemon juice as a salad dressing, lentils with carrots, leeks, and spices. For dinners I have fish about twice a week. Then I have poultry (chicken, turkey, duck). I'll also have beef once ever week or two and pork once every week or two. I have an occasional apple in between meals. I just made these great spelt/zucchini/cinnamon muffins that I carried around with my on my last vacation as a snack. They also make a great breakfast treat. Hope this helps a little. Good luck with the diet. It's definitely challenging, but well worth it -- and believe me, you will get used to it. I used to be a pop junkie, and always had to drink with my meals. Now, I drink 95% water, and on occasion herbal teas (Pau d'Arco or Peppermint). I don't drink with meals because it impairs digestion, and I really have gotten used to it. One thing that bothers me is that UCI did not give us any ideas as to what kind of diet to have on. Any ideas would be deeply appreciated.
