Guest guest
Pre diagnosis I did suffer with pain in the eyes, and my eyeballs it seemed, felt hot. In desperation one day I put aloe vera gel that was stored in the fridge directly into my eyes just to get some relief. I did for about two seconds then came the sting. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING YOU TRY THIS it was just to illustrate my situation and how desperate I felt at that time. I also developed dry eyes, and when I fell asleep, I woke up and my eyeballs would momentarily be stuck to the inside of my eyelids. It was a horrible time for me. I read that linseeds/flaxseeds and the oil derived from ingesting them in the diet was good for the eyes, and eating the blue and purple fruits like blueberries and bilberries. I forget what they say is in them that is good for the eyes, but I eat both every day. The linseeds I sprinkle on breakfast cereal and I eat a punnet a day of blueberries at breakfast. Again pre diagnosis, I had terrible night blindness during the winter months, I used to keep clipping kerbstones when I was driving and street lighting never seemed bright enough. Also I found my abilty to focus was affected. I also developed sensitivity to light or looking at white paper, as the paper would appear ultra white to my eyes and cause headaches. I took to adjusting the brightness of the computer screen down to its lowest setting and sometimes wore sunglasses to watch T.V. to lessen the headaches caused by the array of different colours on the T.V. Sometimes I would just keep using cold compresses with my eyes closed to cool the eye area down. Only being medicated with thyroid meds did things improve, but it took time until my eyes got better. I got the endorsement from my optician who was pleased to tell me that there had been no change in my prescription in over a year and I am 49 now. She said I was a long way off requiring bi-focal glasses as I am getting older, and could now have my eyes tested every two years instead of yearly. Taking lutein is meant to help with aging eyesight, and even if your not that old, you could begin taking it as a preventive measure against your future eye health. This is anecdotal and maybe peculiar to me, but I found eating lots of coriander, in carrot and coriander soup helped sharpen my vision. God Bless, Good Health, and Happy Easter! Guest guest
Hi! When I had the same things with my eyes I put cucumber on them. It didn't take it away but it took down some of the swelling. <veetee@...> wrote: Pre diagnosis I did suffer with pain in the eyes, and my eyeballs it seemed, felt hot. Guest guest
Yes, I try to go away for a few minutes at least every little while. Guest guest
Lynn, I think it's a joke when doctors tell us that . . . Of course we could blink or turn our eyes - if we weren't concentrating on what we're doing . . . By the time we realize our eyes are getting dry, it's too late! There are some excellent OTC preparations for dry eyes . . . drops for day, ointment for night. . . Just watch out for silicone in them. Still traveling! Hugs, Rogene Eyes My eye doctor says to make sure you remember to blink or turn away from the computer monitor every once in a while to refocus. Guest guest
Hi everyone - quick question and then a suggestion. 1. Has anyone experienced her baby waking up after sleeping in the helmet on her side and getting an eye looking slightly swollen, yet smaller - more closed than the other eye?? Is it possible for the helmet pressure to malform the eye???!!! 2. Suggestion - I know some people have been having ins. probs. in getting the helmet covered. I live in CA and was just told that if your baby has torticollis and maybe even plagio alone - the state will pay for the helmet in total - if ins. co. denies coverage. In the Stockton area the organization is called - Valley Mountain Regional Center - but check with your doctor and/or child welfare/clinics etc. Thanks, ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
1). i have hear of the eye getting a little squished by the band. sometimes they call it " angry eye " . i don't believe it malforms they eye, but i would ask your ortho about it and make sure there is no excessive pressure. 2) i'm in CA and haven't heard this. our band was covered 100% by kaiser. others have had different levels of coverage. i haven't heard of the state picking up the cost. -christine sydney 16 mo starband grad > > Hi everyone - quick question and then a suggestion. > 1. Guest guest
, 1. I didn't have this but I would definitely ask your ortho. If the pressure is malforming your child's head that needs to be corrected asap. 2. That is cool that CA (or at least what you heard) will pay for the helmet in full if insurance won't. Hope that works for the Californians on this board. > > Hi everyone - quick question and then a suggestion. > 1. Guest guest
My Son's helmet used to visually squish his eye when he was awake and sitting upright. I was told that this should never happen and that he needed an adjustment. After the adjustment, the squishing didn't happen. I think you need to go for an adjustment. > > > > Hi everyone - quick question and then a suggestion. > > 1. Guest guest
Hi Dev, Welcome back. I too had the same problem a while back, what helped me was to wash my eyes with a cotton ball soaked in Pau D'Arco tea (which was on the cool side). Give it a try and see if it works for you also. Good luck, Maddalena

Guest guest
Hi Jo: Did you add it in tincture form or capsules? Or an eye wash decoction? I have taken Stephania Root in both capsule form and tinctures, and haven't really noticed any difference when I quit either way. I am still taking it in capsules. The herb that I did notice a BIG difference with, is Devil's Claw. That made my vision much, much clearer with than without. Jim. ### wyomin@... wrote: Just want to share my experience with vision. I don't have the serious problems being described here, just near sighted and 'wobbly' vision sometimes when I'm really toxic. I added stephania this summer at the same time I was swimming regularly. I noticed my distance vision improved dramatically! I was amazed. jo
Guest guest
Jim, I took the first pound of stephania as a powder, l tsp 3Xday. That is when I noticed the improvement in vision. I've since made a glycerite of stephania + teasel + red root. I've been taking Devil's claw for a few weeks and am not experiencing anything that I can identify. Buhner lists it for pain but my pain level is actually up. That's because of the colder weather. But the Devil's claw isn't helping. I'll continue taking it for a while longer, but it just may be something that doesn't do anything for me. We're all different in how we respond to different herbs. jo
Guest guest
Jo, I noticed huge improvements in my vision within a day of taking the Devil's Claw. And a big drop in it when I stopped. So that is THE one herb I will probably never stop. I didn't notice much difference one way or the other with Stephania root. BUt I still take it too, just because Buhner recommends it. Guest guest
Oh gosh, there is soo much, I forgot......someone mentioned crying a trail of black specks. When you cry that trail, did you develop any bites after? Pimples, milia, itching. Eyes How many of us are having trouble with their eyes? Do you ever get something in them? Floaters? Conjunctivitis? (goo in the corners of the eyes?) Is the "goo" just goo or does it have form? Teeny tiny pearl with goo? Wormy goo? A little black thing in the goo? Itchy? Teeny tiny wrinkles? Deep crease wrinkles? White flecks on the eyelashes? Feeling crawling on the eyelashes or skin surrounding the eye?

Guest guest
Yes, I also have itchy eyes and brows so I keep vaseline on them every night. I also wear an eye mask which helps a lot but that takes a getting use to. Guest guest
Hi Lucy, I think visine has sodium in it as well? I did use colloidal silver at one time, but when I stopped, they came back with a vengenace. I don't know, I do know it helps the skin heal, but I experienced a healing over the problem not the problem going away. Maybe both together.....
