Guest guest
I do the one ear plug thing, too. It's a great help! I'm pretty new, too, and like you am so relieved to know that what I've suffered with for most of my life is a valid condition. My misophonia is very centered on mouth noises, but other repetitive sounds can get to me, too. However, I find those other sounds like tapping to be more in the range of ultra irritating rather than all-out rage-inducing. I feel ya on the cat thing! Ive had cats in the past and that drove me nuts! My little dog can really trigger me too. Seems like he prefers to eat his dry food whenever I'm around despite having access to it all day. About Dan and the crunching--one thing that I've mentioned on here before is that I find it helpful to wear one ear plug on the side of the offending noise. It muffles the noise but allows me to continue to interact. I always somehow knew this affected more than just me. I Googled occasionally for years hoping to find some recognition of this as "real". I am so grateful to Dr. J and others who have brought this to light and gave it a name. Again, welcome! Sent from my iPad
