Guest guest
This is a reply to Dana who sent a letter to your group with regards to her swollen legs, Dana, please dont worry, my legs were totally doubled in size and I had hives also, I couldnt get rid of the swelling, my right thist and fingers were all swollen up one day when I woke, the condition was at its worse, so please do not panic, what you need to do is get a referral to your Rhumatologist, you need a specialist one who specialises in auto immune conditions, get them to do a anti nuclear antibody blood test to rule out auto immune, you really need a thorough check over with your bloods as soon as you get chance to get to a hospital that is good, I dont know if your in the UK or in the US, but in UK Addenbrooks Hospital deals with a lot of things in great depth you need to insist on a referral, you have a right to that and please get seen to, but dont panic as I went through all this myself, you will be okay, good luck!! Guest guest
Thank you for this message. Yes I was a worried at first, but am much more relieved after seeing all of the messages on here. I am seeing a rheumy and my labs don't make a whole lot of sense at the moment. In fact he is rerunning them...I don't know if he suspects lab error or just wants to verify. My ANA is positive at 1:320 speckled, but I did not test positive for anything except a weak positive on Anti-histone antibodies. He ran a ton of labs too. I just wait and see what these new labs say and then go from there. The swelling seemed better for a short time today, but it's bad again tonight. A LOT more pain too, so I think a new flare is on its way. Thanks to everyone for all of your support! --Dana > > This is a reply to Dana who sent a letter to your group with regards to > her swollen legs, Dana, please dont worry, my legs were totally doubled > in size and I had hives also, I couldnt get rid of the swelling, my > right thist and fingers were all swollen up one day when I woke, the > condition was at its worse, so please do not panic, what you need to do > is get a referral to your Rhumatologist, you need a specialist one who > specialises in auto immune conditions, get them to do a anti nuclear > antibody blood test to rule out auto immune, you really need a thorough > check over with your bloods as soon as you get chance to get to a > hospital that is good, I dont know if your in the UK or in the US, but > in UK Addenbrooks Hospital deals with a lot of things in great depth > you need to insist on a referral, you have a right to that and please > get seen to, but dont panic as I went through all this myself, you will > be okay, good luck!! >
