Guest guest
<<I do well for a short while and then I do very poorly for a long while and then repeat the pattern. Of course for me the good news is that I refuse to quit although I feel that I want to. I am sticking with my additional food challenge goal this week of increasing fruit and veggies intake but next week is the week that I plan all my meals prior to each day. My eating is willy-nilly so I need a plan.>>. Good for you, Tyra, wrt sticking to your plan! Ikwym re a plan - I definitely need one. I was able to lose my first 10 or so kg with just eating healthy and lowfat and exercising but then hit a year long plateau. It is my food plan now that makes a difference - keeps me up to scratch with portion control. Thank you for all your positive affirmations! BTW, I think I see your name on a homeschooling list, of which I am a member? Anny in Australia

Day before yesterday I managed 5 minutes and today I manged 3 mins. I set the clock for 15 but I just couldn't do it. I'll need to drop back for a while, until I make up the lost ground. This is the reason I hate holidays...everything gets messed up and it takes awhile to recover after them. Charlotte As Deb has said: " Fitness is a journey and it begins with the first step. Guest guest
I was disappointed. But yesterday, I realized that the most important thing was habit. That amount of time didn't matter as much as getting up and doing it every day possible. My workout times will come back up as soon as I work the rust out from the holidays. Thanks for the encouragement (and to you all)! Charlotte -- Re: update I call what you are going through NORMAL!!!!! There is the ebb and flow to everything. Guest guest
Charlotte, keep on - you are getting there and not giving up! Right now, I have blood clots in one of my legs( superficial, not deep vein - thank heavesn 0 been there before!) I have factor v leiden, a blood clotting disorder. So, I am on rest - but my doctor said upper body workouts are okay. I have been doing just the upper body bits and using the bands from 's Basic Training and Ultimate Bootcamp workouts. Still fun! Guest guest
You have come into a great revelation. I once remember Oprah saying that you know you are disciplined when you workout even when you don't want to. You have discipline my sister. The stamina will come with time. You are truly encouraging me. I take it working out for grant it because I can workout whenever I want to at any intensity that I want. And here you are really struggling just to get in a few minutes that are really intense for you. YOU ARE DA BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
prayers going your way, hugs and more hugs sharon Subject: UPDATE To: LBDcaregivers Date: Saturday, September 27, 2008, 11:41 AM She's starting to come around a little. Her primary care physician suggested that it might be low blood sugar from having gone so long without eating so we managed to get her to suck on a straw and got to cups of Ensure and some cranberry juice into her. Now, she seems to be perking up a bit. We're just going to keep an eye on things. He said if she doesn't come fully around in an hour or two, that we should call an ambulance in case she s had a stroke. To be honest, I'm wondering what the point would be. Knowing if she had one won't change anything.... ..... Well, I had my first reality check good sob today. It's the first time I've allowed myself the luxury since the diagnosis. The fact that she is truly dying is really starting to hit home. Gladys
Guest guest
Dear Gladys, My thoughts are with you - I understand how you are feeling. It's hard to believe and accept what is happening to our loved ones. Helene Subject: UPDATE To: LBDcaregivers Date: Saturday, September 27, 2008, 2:41 PM She's starting to come around a little. Guest guest
I'm home for the night. Ruthie is staying at the hospital with Mom and I'll be staying there tomorrow night. They can't find anything wrong other than mild dehydration. Then again, the blood cultures won't be back for another 36 hours. However, her neck is horrible. She's been complaining about pain and today it was VERY obvious that it hurts a lot. It got worse as the day progressed and the muscle on the side of her neck is so constricted that it looks like a very small tree trunk. The pain goes right up into her head. Ruthie just called to tell me the stupid ER doctor wrote the pain script for tomorrow morning so they nurse is trying to track him down. sigh......... Anyway, that's where things stand right now. Thank you for all being there. Gladys
