Guest guest
This afternoon I got a call from Dad's caregiver saying that she couldn't wake him for lunch. When I got there a few minutes later, he would respond to his name by opening his eyes, or even saying hello, but would immediately close his eyes and drift off again. We took his blood pressure which was normal (124/72), and checked his oxygen level which was low normal for him (94%). When his eyes were closed, his hands and feet moved as if acting out a dream. After a few minutes on oxygen, his level increased to 94% and he opened his eyes and said " Is this still a dream? " Dad's still ambulatory, though he needs help with all aspects of daily living. He has PD and probable LBD, though originally diagnosed as ALZ, He takes Razadyne and Namenda for cognitive issues, Nitrofuran as a prophylactic against UTIs, Enablex for an overactive bladder, Sinemet to help his breathing, and Lexapro because who wouldn't be depressed in his situation. Has anyone else had a LO who couldn't / wouldn't wake up? How did you deal with it? Regards, Ann Dad 86, diagnosed three years ago
