Not exactly. It is well known among most older cattle farmers around here that grasses such as Coastal Bermuda (which this grass is related to) will produce Prussic acid under some high-stress growing conditions such as drought. When cattle eat this damaged grass, they become ill and may die of cyanide poisoning. When I was a young'un, we raised cattle on our family farm, and one time lost some of our cattle that same way.
