Guest guest
I agree with that. Along with the misophonia, I also have peripheral neuropathy, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, hyperacusis, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, and a handful of other conditions. People DON'T understand what they haven't experienced at some level. I get so tired of the " You look great " comments because in most cases, they are NOT compliments--they are said like " You look great--so why are you still laying in bed all day Why can't you get up and get a job? " --------------------------------------------------------- ♥ " Hope is more than a word; it's a state of being. It's a firm belief God will come through. Life brings rain... hope turns every drop into the power to bloom like never before. " -Holley Gerth ♥  I am above-average... IQ 129. Neither of my children have this and my son has an IQ of 176 (Chemical Engineer) and daughter is a realtor and her IQ is 164...I was adopted but know the birth-family since being grown. Lots and lots of highly educated and intelligent people and I am the only one to suffer with this horrible condition. As far as people being insensitive to us - it's that way with pretty much everything that people don't understand or have to live with... I also have Fibromyalgia (for about 26 yrs) - it's becoming more well-known, but I always kind of wished we'd grow a camel hump or something so people wouldn't just tell all of us with it that we look so healthy! Unless people have something or can see pain, many will be insensitive and laugh things off. Even docs - wish they could plug into all their patients for just 5 minutes...
