Guest guest
Way to go! Impressive courage pays off! He also specializes in psychiatric care. Today, because of this support group and the past and present media coverage, gave me the courage to tell him about misophonia. It takes courage to tell others about this disorder. So he asks me how's the Restoril was working and I said not very much, however, I told him, I would take the insomnia AND my migraines I've have 30 years over this condition I have. I showed him the Today show clip that stemmed from the New York Times article. He read through my phone. I told him how I felt and there are thousands of out there. I asked if he had ever heard of if. He said yes. This hard core chick fell to tears. I told him I am so glad he has. That was enough for me right there! He said he was excited to try to help me! First order of business is blood work. He wants to check to see three variables. Serotonin, adrenaline, and a third one. He said this is pretty new. Goes to the Mayo Clinic and he can see graphically if any levels needs adjusted. He said shots can be administered to adjust to help calm the flight/flee responses. I said lets try it!! I managed to tell my supervisor last month with no response, to be able to tell a doctor who has heard of it, excited about trying to help me has made me the happiest I've been in my life!! It's a start for me and as long as you have a professional willing to work with you makes a world of difference! Thank you group for your support. I could not have done it without you! Will keep you posted. Takes a week for results. Shonna Sent from my iPhone
