I think you need to finish your major first, and then possibly a graduate degree

or PhD, before making grandiose statements about someone's racism.

Yes, none of us should be using race as a description when it's not relevant,

but since it is a very common thing to do we should not be jumping all over

someone with accusations. One statement does not denote racism.

I've probably said things like " yeah, some Asian guy... " , yet to call me racist

against Asians would be a bit ridiculous considering my ex-husband (and the

father of my children) is not only half-Korean, but looks totally Asian, and

never mind has said stuff like that himself. I've also lived in two Asian

countries, have a full-Korean mother-in-law, and have Asian friends from

multiple countries.

I think it's more important to be tolerant and know people before we judge them.

Notwithstanding our occasional differences, we're all still on the same side,

right?

Agreed! I think you mentioned the girl's race because it stuck out in your

memory, like said. And if someone had a problem with that, they should

have private messaged you, not started a public hanging.

Oh, wait, was that racist?

We all say and think things we might not normally think, about the people who

trigger us when we're in an agitated state. Sometimes I write them down, and

tear it up or delete it later. Sometimes I scream it to my neighbor through the

wall. It's not personal. It's our reaction.

Mine's less radical: I wash the dishes and clean compulsively. For some reason,

simple, repetitive actions that are hard to mess up help relieve my post-trigger

windup. And hopefully, the amount of useful housework I put in will slightly

compensate my roommates for the many sounds they're not allowed to make when I'm

home. ( " I know how much you love music, but please don't hum when I'm

around...But hey, look! I did the dishes! And took out the garbage! And vacuumed

the floor!...What do you mean, " desperate " ?.... " )
