Hello all,

Thank you, firstly, for letting me join your group.

My name is , I'm 31. I live in Australia. I have two children; my son is 8

and is diagnosed AS, my daughter is 5 and I suspect she also has it but I'm not

sure how much of her behaviour is simply mirroring her brother.

Their dad (my partner) is also highly suspected AS although not confirmed. He

introduces himself as someone with AS. I have been with (on and off - lots and

lots of 'off's) with for 12 years. I have left him many, many times

because I was just unable to cope with the way our relationship panned out;

however I love him deeply and always went back. We really only recognised

's AS about 5 years ago, but it wasn't until our son was first diagnosed (2

years ago) that paid attention.

Now that we are more aware of his AS and my reactions to his AS we are trying to

get our relationship back up off the ground. We love each other very much and in

the early days it's always wonderful because we are both trying very hard. I'm

not sure who stops " trying " first - but eventually I end up feeling used, lonely

and unloved. says he never realises the relationship has been going south

(my fault, for not communicating with him) and is always shocked when I break it

off. I really, really do not want to continue with this pattern.

Sorry this has been very long winded. I appologise for that!! I've just

started full time study at University doing my Bachelor of Human Services

majoring in Counseling and Child & Family.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all :)
