Guest guest
Telecommuting has greatly reduced my workplace stress. I no longer have to listen to the guy on the other side of the cube wall slurp soda and chomp on chips with his mouth open. No more clueless d-bags putting their phone on speaker during an hour-long conference call instead of wearing a headset. No more supposed " working lunches " - yeah, like I can actually concentrate? AS IF. No more tap-tap-tapping of dozens and dozens of acrylic nails against keyboards, for hours on end. No more twice-a-minute sniffing and horking from the poor guy who has such bad allergies. Telecommuting is awesomesauce. - Tam > > In my case when I drink cofee, am more stressful and agitated. Guest guest
You are very fortunate that you have the chance to do that. I sit at my desk and suffer most of the day and its awful and I know many can relate. The noises at work become unbearable. It makes it so difficult to get through the day - 5 days a week! More so knowing that these noises are avoidable and DO NOT have to happen making it worse! Teeth sucking, snapping, drumming on the desk, the list goes on!! Guest guest
I love my coffee, but yes, i think it makes the miso worse. I drink a strong cup of tulsi tea to calm down in the day. > > In my case when I drink cofee, am more stressful and agitated. Guest guest
I can relate, LSabeti. I used to think there was no difference. I can tell that I am better at dealing with the sounds and I probably don't notice them quite as much when I am as stress-free as possible. When I have a headache already, or a stomach ache, I could punch through a wall in terms of the misophonia triggers. They are always extremely sever, though one way or another, stress in the rest of life does seem to play a role. > > In my case when I drink cofee, am more stressful and agitated. Guest guest
When I am in pain, or overly stressed, my sound sensitivity is multiplied a 1000x. At work, thankfully, I am able to wear headphones all day and listen to music, so nothing really bothers me there. At home, I have issues, as my husband has HORRIBLE manners and eats like a horse, though the sound of almost anyone chewing is enough to make me want to punch them in the face. Coffee, or any other stimulant, does not seem to exacerbate the problem. > > In my case when I drink cofee, am more stressful and agitated.
