Guest guest
ý20/20's story on misophonia airs tonight. Many thanks to everyone for their help. FYI there are trigger sounds in the piece, so there will be a " safe " version posted on our website (with trigger sounds muted). Hope that is helpful. Guest guest
Normal people do not hear what I am hearing. Right now these sounds are my world:Ice being dug out of the freezer, going into the glasses, fan running on the microwavefree credit report.com commercial on the tv, I could strangle each of them with my bare hands and never smile or frown, bag of something crunchy just opened, and being crunchedflatware hitting the granite counter topsMother-in-law, in for rare visit, talking three octaves high to my 17 year old deaf border collie who doesn't remember who she isIf I asked each person to go outside and tell me what sounds they thought I had just listed for you, they would say, "The TV?" Guest guest
My daughter and I live the life that the girl and her family live that were profilede in tonight's 20/20. My daughter spends about 80% or more of her time in an upstairs room. But in our case my voice is not a trigger for her...so we have to be glad for that. > > > > > > Hi Everyone > > > > I am so excited about 20/20 tonight. One of my biggest triggers is the silibence in women's voices, so I'll be watching the show using the closed caption feature as I always do when I watch tv. I'll be thinking about all of you and sending you thoughts of hope and kinship. > > > > Thanks to all on this board who participated and of course to Dr. , my heroine. > > > > Best regards, > > Elaine >
Guest guest
I automatically left the room when I heard the lady eating rocks, my brother and his girlfriend just laughed at me. I laughed too, but not so much because it was funny, just the type of nervous laughter you get when you watch a scary movie - well, at least that's what I do when I watch scary movies. I was like " why would they do that?! " and my brother jokingly said it was a test to make sure people really had it. > > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone > > > > > > I am so excited about 20/20 tonight.
