Guest guest
I am a project manager by profession and I have experience setting up and running small community based non-profits. It is not as simple as one thinks as there is a ton of paperwork required and the board meetings and minutes have to be faithfully recorded as well as charters and other misc items have to be documented, sent out, filed etc on a regular basis. In my experience, the people who end up doing all the work are always the same 3 people who do everything. I know board members have the right intentions but it is a LOT of work to set up and run a 501c in Oregon or otherwise. I have lived in Oregon, Washington & Idaho and the process is pretty much the same with Oregon having the most paperwork and Idaho probably the least.I am willing to advise but I am not willing to be a board member for this forum. I don’t see the willingness by members to be supportive. I know that there are a few very dedicated individuals and I am thankful for the calm voices but I am not sure that the community feel is there yet.
