Guest guest
I am pleased to see the posts you all have been sharing. I appreciate the suggestions and the testimonials. I am at about two months at the most since this condition started and was diagnosed. The nodules are multiplying on my thighs and the first ones, on the lower legs, are flat bruises that one day hurt like heck and the next not so much. I do look like Ive either been beaten or stung by killer bees. The nodules hurt when touched and sort of sting when barely in contact with my clothes and really shout out when my 11 yr old keeps leaning on me or the cats decide to walk on my legs. My legs have been increasingly stiff, some from the edema, mostly on left where majority of spots are, but the stiffening feels like another layer of a plaster cast is being put on every few days. Today a previously injured wrist was very very sore and a bit swollen and the bottoms of my feet hurt a lot. Im worried that the soreness will get into my herniated lumbar discs or pinched nerve. I fear that malady far more than anything. When the back goes, its absolutely incapacitating. This EN thing so far has just slowed me down a bit and increased my whining. I finally refilled my iron supps, theyre cheap but just another thing to remember, ya know? I am terrible at taking my B-12. That reminds me, I have had Gastric Bypass, and a lot of the co-issues seem to involve the GI. I havent had any trouble with my GI but perhaps the surgery in general has set up this EN situation. Any gastric bypass post ops out there with a similar hypothesis? As an avid knitter and spinner, Im really hoping the wrist pain subsides. I also grow as much food and support local organic agriculture as much as I can. Have any of you had allergy testing because of the EN trigger possibilities? I was tested as a kid, and have dust, grass, and mold allergies which have evolved a lot throughout my life(dusting things or basements and closets are a killer for me, darnit). Just wondering if testing has given some direction to what to start with when elimination-guessing for triggers. OK, time to put feet up. Left ankle, the chronic sweller for this first round, is pretty puffy today. Might have to sleep with the pressure sock. Again, thanks for the conversation and advice. Guest guest
,Have you tried going Gluten Free? That by far helps the best. I've had EN for 35 years. I've tried everything.Edema usually has something to do with adrenals being fatigued and the body being stressed. I had the same thing. I do not drink caffeine anymore. Only decaf. Make sure you are drinking enough water daily. They say half your body weight in ounces is the best way to determine water intake. So roughly 8-10 glasses daily.be religious with your B12 complex (make sure it is methylcobalamin B12. the others do not absorb well and are a waste). I do liquid drops for better absorption. I take a dropperful at rising and another dropperful at noon. This has done wonders for my energy. If you have colon issues from the bypass then: Iron (which must be taken with Vit C for absorption), B12 Complex, also a great probiotic (drink or pill).Your Omegas are really going to help too. I do a great Krill oil. Try the gluten free for 6 months and I think you will see that this will help with a lot of your issues. Today's gluten products (wheat, barely, oats) really are not made for the digestion. They've been so over modified that it really is damaging to the colon, adrenals and body. There's a lot of literature out there on that.I embraced Gluten Free and have never regretted it.wishing you healing. ML Gemmill I am pleased to see the posts you all have been sharing.
