Guest guest
It amazes me how people get all dressed up and then put gum in their mouth and turn themselves into trailer trash. I am good at staring also when someone pops or cracks. Sometimes it works. Education does not teach manners! You'd think someone with that much smarts and education would have more common decency than to make noise with chewing gum. I'd complain to the HR manager, but she does the same thing. Guest guest
I have a supervisor who towers over people and is always smacking gum. I would love nothing more than to tell him how unprofessional and childish his behavior is. I never have but on some occassions I have taken time away from what I am doing to shoot a look at him if I think I have a chance of making eye contact. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy overall, but I couldn't handle a car ride with him or working next to him! Guest guest
Besides smacking, slurping, click ticking, shoes dragging... Nasally voices and baby doll seemingly made up voices irritates me... Is that part of miso? Can anyone relate?<3 ArleneSent from my iPhone Great comment, Peggy! I love it. Guest guest
Ha, that's so annoying that you can't go to HR because she chews her gum like that also. It may not be such a bad idea to complain about the manager's gum chewing to HR even though she does it to...maybe everyone else is being bothered but nobody wants to say anything. > > > > Today I went to a meeting. Guest guest
My boss and co-worker are the same way...smacking their gum. It seems so unprofessional. I know that I am extra sensitive though. I have commented to both of them, but they pretty much just ignore it. It is so annoying. I sit in meetings with my hard plugging up the ear closest to them. > > > > > > Today I went to a meeting. Guest guest
I can't tell you how many people I have worked with that act this way. It's so upsetting. Guest guest
I work in a similar condition with CPA's who are partners and one feels the need to suck his teeth constantly. I have approached the issue lightly and he laughs and continues to do it, so I cannot win. I dread when it is about noon b/c I know that lunch is approaching and it will really start and continue all afternoon. I have another one who drums on his desk and snaps up and down the hall every time he walks by. I can't bear it and sometimes I just want to cry at my desk. I can't tell you how many people I have worked with that act this way. It's so upsetting. And i think the same thing, how unprofessional and stupid they look!! Guest guest
I hate gum chewing, its worse when they snap it! I hate sneeezes coughs and sniffles! some voices I cant stand either! I get so tense and nervous I could die! I sometimes think being deaf and blind would be a relief! How sick is that? I just found out today there's such a thing as Misophonia! what a relief! I always thought I was crazy or the only one who was like this!..................Ed > > > > > > > > Today I went to a meeting. Guest guest
I have totally wished I was deaf before. My husband even suggested that I go firearm shooting with him to worsen my hearing....at least I think that's why he suggested it. Guest guest
I know your hubby meant well (or was joking), but ear damage from loud sounds can result in tinnitus instead of hearing loss. It can even cause hyperacusis (acute hearing). I have hyperacusis and it makes Misophonia worse. I've also had a case of temporary tinnitus and the constant noise almost did me in. And yes, I've wished at times that I was deaf, too. But I have Sensory Processing Disorder, which means I react negatively to a growing number of visual, tactile and olfactory triggers as well as auditory. So, deafness wouldn't really help me. I'm glad sensory issues are finally getting the publicity they warrant. Let's hope someone will discover a meaningful treatment. Colleen > > > > > > > > > > > > Today I went to a meeting. Guest guest
I have to agree, education does not make a person considerate or empathetic. Society has actually been teaching people the opposite in the last several years. I don't understand why someone would want to give that impression either. Gum chewing is my biggest trigger, each time they showed it on the 20/20 show I just immediately yelled " stop " and quickly muted the tv. > > > > It amazes me how people get all dressed up and then put gum in their mouth and > > turn themselves into trailer trash.
