Same as you...White noise makes me jumpy and jittery.. pink noise is tolerable but not really pleasant.. and brown noise is soothing. :)

www.simplynoise.com is a great site for easy, constant, volume controlled white, pink, and brown noise to play at work or home. I find it useful at work, because I have a big, big trigger girl that works closely with me that just drives me up the wall.

But I'm curious - which sound is the most comforting to you?

For me, it's brown noise, because it's gentle and subtle, and sounds natural to me, like ocean waves.

The pink is kind of harsh, and then white is like really harsh to me.

What do you all think?

I despise white or pink noise... it actually irritates me and is definitely

harsh on my ears. I LOVE brown noise. Like you said, it's more similar to

ocean waves, or a low fan. Much more pleasant on the ears.

I usually sleep with white noise very loudly because my husband snores (in another room), but I just discovered brown noise and I think I like it much better. I don't know if it will drown out his sounds though. :(

Brown noise is the best out of the three because it's soothing.

Brown noise is also what my sound generators produce.

Ditto. I hate white noise. I don't like pink noise, but it's a little easier

than white. And I LOVE brown noise, it's very calming to me. Big big

difference between the three.
