Don't you get cold? I can use a fan in the summer but not when it is -20 with -45 windchills... even if it isn't facing on me directly it still makes the air cold. So it is only practical for about 4-5 months to use a fan here.

There is nothing better or cheaper than a box fan. I have had one near my bed since I was in elementary school. They cost about $10 and work great. At work many people use little fans on their desks although we are allowed to have box fans in our offices. The difference in noise levels is amazing.

Am I the only one who can't tolerate anything that is meant to mask the original

trigger by producing additional noise? lol

Do you not have fan heaters in the US? When I still lived at home and needed

some noise in my room, I used to use a fan heater that also had a cool setting.

I used the cool setting in summer and the heat setting in winter. Though

sometimes my room got so hot I had to put it back to the cool setting.

Here are some fan heaters:

They have a fan inside that blows the air across a heated element, so they still

make a fan sound. They make the same sound regardless of whether they are

heating or cooling. I guess different models will vary in volume.
