Guest guest
You just put them and turn on the effect. The music is not necessary to mask noise. I have a basic question: do 'Noise-Cancelling' headphones work just by putting them on? Or do you need to listen to, say, music or other recordings in order for them to work? Guest guest
Just a warning about noise canceling headphones. If you're sensitive to everything like I am the Bose noise canceling headphones will hurt your ears. You have to go to best buy and try them to understand what I'm talking about. They feel like your brains are being sucked out of your ears. If you don't like the feeling of being submerged under water you won't like them. And you can't judge how they feel by putting them on your head in the store for a minute you have to take them home because they feel different at home. I just bought 4 different pair and finally found a pair of Sony NC200D on the ear noise canceling headphones. The have a passive mode that you can turn off so they don't have the underwater feeling. Oddly enough the expensive Bose doesn't have this feature. Even with the Bose you can still hear people talking. It just blocks the industrial noise. I hope this helps. > > I have a basic question: do 'Noise-Cancelling' headphones work just by putting them on?
