Guest guest
I'm ready for phase two. I'm ready to start contacting researchers again and I've been formulating some ideas for school outreach. With the above in mind, I believe now is the time that we need to regroup, recollect our thoughts and focus our attention on awareness and research. I propose a two tiered project to achieve this goal. I am looking for a group of dedicated go getters that are ready to take action and make a change for our whole community. Stage one of the project I believe should focus on collection and consolidation. We have a great deal of experiences now spread throughout different groups, be it the Yahoo board, the public website, Facebook or in news articles. In order to correctly present ourselves to the public we need to bring all of these experiences together into one central location and reshape them to portray the message we are aiming to convey. For this exercise I suggest using the Yahoo group as a collection point, the public website as a conduit and Facebook as a rally point. For example, I would like see multiple experiences uploaded here: http://www.misophonia.info/media/experiences/ If you took part in the 20/20 segment and would like your video featured on the website, please drop me an email with the original video and I will ensure it is uploaded in full. If you did not have time to take part in the 20/20 video diaries but would still like to share your experience, please make a video and pass it my way. The more examples we have of how we feel, the better we will be able to convey our message; that we are hurting and need help. Tier two: Once we have collected all of the new data we should formulate a marketing campaign aimed at different groups. I propose we target schools, research labs, professional journals, and members of the academic community that either have a strong foothold or may be interested in our condition. We need to act decisively, collaboratively and with a common goal always on our minds. Some of you who have been here for a few years will remember my original post called the “Publicity Projectâ€, we are now reaching the conclusion of that project thanks to a few very special and dedicated individuals. Now it's time to move onto the next step which is contacting as many people as possible in order to begin research. I am writing this email in the hopes of expressing to you my desire to carry this momentum forward, always aiming for a positive outcome. My original goal, which is still strong to this day, is to take action on behalf of this group seeking positive awareness and research which I believe will lead towards a cure for us all. I am looking for a team of like minded individuals who are willing to put in some extra work on behalf of this community. I am looking for people who are willing to be on the front lines, fighting against overwhelming odds but fighting a fight I know we can win. You don’t have to have any particular skills, however if you do have them in marketing, graphics design, or if you hold excellent knowledge over the English language, then that is a plus. I strongly believe if we have the passion to overcome this condition the rest will fall into place. So who is ready to make a change? Who is ready to stand up and be heard? Who is ready to fight on behalf of their children? Who is ready to be cured?! I believe in each and every one of you and I am hopeful for the future. Its our time to take control, its our time to set ourselves free. McKenna

Guest guest
Hi , We are so fortunate to have some one like you in this group! I'll help in anyway I can. Do you have a plan on how we can sign up for the team, or how often the team meets to discuss plans, actions, and schedules? I'm so excited that we are taking active steps to find a cure for this. I like how you have a name for the project (like " Publicity Project " ). Will the next one be " Collect & Consolidate " , then " Mindful Marketing " ? Another thought is we need to find a way to raise $. I think it's much easier to get universities and institutions to put researchers behind this if there's some $. -jennifer > > Hello All, > > Thanks to the New York Times article and more recently, the 20/20 segment, > we now have credibility behind this condition. > > With the above in mind, I believe now is the time that we need to regroup, > recollect our thoughts and focus our attention on awareness and research. > > I propose a two tiered project to achieve this goal. Guest guest
Hi ,Glad to be of service and very glad to hear you would like to help out as well. I have added you to the list, when you have a moment can you please send me a private email with your full name just for my records? Signing up for the team is taking place over the yahoo group, FB and the public website. how often the team meets to discuss will depend on how we go with phase one, which will revolve around collection and consolidation. I like your names I would like to get the team together every three weeks or so to discuss how we are progressing (depending on our real life commitments ) which we can do through chat programs such as skype or google hangouts, or a few paid programs I am looking into to for our needs. anyway more to come in my email to the team. I agree with the need to raise money which will be one of our projects (which of course we will include others from the group). I know there was talk about setting up a NPO which I believe will be very beneficial in this instance. Thanks so much , I have added you to the list as well.I appreciate all who have said that they would like to help out, means a great deal to see so many responses across the different websites. with hope Hi , We are so fortunate to have some one like you in this group!
