Guest guest
Thanks for asking the question about other sensitivities. I have severe sensitivity to sound, visual, and tactile triggers and minor olfactory triggers. I was officially diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) in 1996. SPD was discovered and originally named Sensory Defensiveness in the 1950's. There are other support groups on Yahoo for Sensory Processing Disorder, but this Miso/4S group seems to be the most active and passionate. I underwent 15 months of Occupational Therapy, 10 hours of brain wave optimization, and countless other therapies---all unsuccessful. Forever hopeful, I'm still pursuing other avenues of treatment. Guest guest
I also have visual and tactile triggers. The hand to the mouth (no noise) will drive me insane. Certain mouth movements trigger a response. To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2012 1:18 PM Subject: Other Sensory Issues Thanks for asking the question about other sensitivities. Guest guest
This could perhaps make for an interesting survey – the percentage of those with other sensitivities (in addition to 4S/Miso) versus those without. I am not adept at setting up something like that, but maybe someone else might be???
