Guest guest
This was an interesting thought that many shared. I was the first Hispanic woman diagnosed w/ VV (that's what I have been told) On speaking with women in the Vulvar Pain Foundation, and attending several meetings w/ women from several states, I have been the only non-caucasian. I am fair skinned but w/ a more ivory/olive complexion. I don't know why this condition predominantly affects Caucasian women but I think it has to do w/ how fair skin is more sensitive. Just my $.02 - Nery

Guest guest
Hi Nery I think our vulvar problems are more complex than that. Where there is a weakness in our bodies, disease can strike. If there is poor circulation to the area, infection, hormone dysfunction, etc. it can cause problems especially if our immune systems are weakened. I think discussing these problems we all have can eventually help find solutions. this is what I am hoping. Nery, how was your trip? did you have a nice christmas? Guest guest
Pat! How are you? I have missed talking with you. I had forgotten your screen name. It all gets confusing sometimes, you know. Well, my vacation was wonderful. Costa Rica is a beautiful country. It is plush and green. I was going as an International Delegate for my church. We had a wonderful convention with over 36,000 present. At the airport, 4,000 local friends came to greet the $4,000+ delegates from 10 countries (including me). The bad part was that by my third day I was sick. I would vomit and have diahrea every day! Then, let us not forget the VV which I had pain every single day. I had hoped to cheat on my doctor's orders and make love with my husband (even bought a nice red gown) but didn't get to use it. That was depressing. Then, I came home and went straight to the E.R. because I felt really weak and was bleeding from my rectum. Well, I was dehyrdated and had a bacterial infection in my intestines and urinary tract (that was why they found blood). They thought I might even have parasite but it turned out negative. So, I was on a liquid diet only for a week and now I am starting to feel a little better. I guess I just can't escape the pain. You know what I mean? Of course you do. Anyway, how are you? Your hubby? Have you been dancing lately? How are you feeling? I read your post about getting your urine tested. That is good! You have to be your own health advocate. Well, I'm glad to hear from you. I hope we can chat again when I see you online or if you see me. Okay. Thinking about you and including you in my prayers.
