Guest guest
Sometimes, depends... I hope this doesn't sound strange. Sometimes my own breathing and eating sounds get to me... I have to distract my thoughts in another direction which I seem to do automatically. The more I have been thinking on sound sensitivity with me the more I am remembering my mother having this to. I think I fight not saying much about others bothering me with their noises or distract myself or remove myself from the situation without thinking about it. I believe my mother did the same thing when her triggers happened.Subject: [spam 8.71] Breathing triggerTo: Soundsensitivity Date: Saturday, May 26, 2012, 8:16 AM Hi there. Does anyone have the trigger of people breathing loudly?
Guest guest
That doesn't sound strange at all. If I find myself breathing loud I have the same reaction as if I was listening to someone else! What's interesting is that I am not sure if anyone in my family has or had it. Is it always predispositioned in families? Kim Sometimes, depends... I hope this doesn't sound strange. Guest guest
I don't know of anyone in my family that had it. I just learned from a friend that she and her sister both have it - she saw the link to the 20/20 show that I posted on FB and had never heard of it before. Missy in Nashville That doesn't sound strange at all. If I find myself breathing loud I have the same reaction as if I was listening to someone else! Guest guest
Kim, I talked to a friend on the phone a couple days ago, and she told me about the 20/20 show, and said she had it. It sounded just like me, so I watched the episode on the internet, and sure enough! So I figured it must be more common than anyone realizes. I've learned of 3 more people that appear to have it since I posted the link. It never occurred to me that it was some kind of condition. I just thought I was terribly grumpy and too sensitive! Missy Missy. That's how I found out I had it! Well I always knew I had it but I didn't have a name for the it. Lol Kim
Guest guest
It is indeed strange that sometimes one can be disturbed by one's own breathing movements, which is why a simple physiological explanation can then be overlooked.
