Guest guest
Thank you for adding me to your group! I am blessed with helping supervise 3 high functioning ladies with Autism. So far I have been able to redirect when repetition, or onset of behavior begins. The problem I am having is one lady will put her finger in her behind or front area and then smell her fingers. How do I help stop this. As far as I know, she doesn't do this when out in public, only at home, but it is still an unpleasant habit. Guest guest
I am not quite sure why she is doing this, but my daughter used to smear feces when she was younger. I was told by a behavioral specialist that it was a sensory issue. What smelled bad to us smelled good to her.You might try offering her a cotton ball or tissue with a favorite appropriate fragrance on it. Please do it under supervision only.
