Guest guest
Colleen,Where exactly did you go to do Brainwave Optimization? And how many sessions did you have?Mike To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 9:19 AM Subject: Re: "Brain Balance Centers" Jill, A couple of us in this group have tried Brainwave Optimization. My results were unsuccessful, but I think one experienced some improvement and was going to do more. Is that the Brain Balance Center treatment you're talking about? If not, I'd like more information. Is there a website? Colleen > > Has anyone every tried going to a Brain Balance Center? Guest guest
Hi Colleen,I am glad to hear that someone else has tried this form of NFB. They say it is like NFB on steroids. The only person that I know of (Clyle) from this site, had excellent results with Misophonia symptoms using NFBbut he had over 100 sessions. Ten may just not be enough. I am on my second round of 10 sessions. I have spoken to them about doing many sessions and they said that some peoplewith severe problems ( returning war vets with PTSD and stroke victims for example) have had good results with many visits. But there is no guarantee because everyone is different. I know I'm different! I will just see what happens. Not sure how many sessions I am willing to do at this point. It costs $140.00 for a 1- 1/2 hour session. I may call your friend in Texas for her opinion. I plan to speak to the President of the company this week personally, since his office is right there where I do my sessions. We'll see what happens. Are you planning to try any other type of NFB or other therapies?Mike To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Thursday, June 7, 2012 2:33 PM Subject: Re: "Brain Balance Centers" Mike, I went to a lady who was treated herself at Brain State Technologies in Arizona. It was so successful for her condition (not SPD or Miso) that she decided to train as a technologist to help other people. She had been practicing for about 2 years when I saw her. Her website is: http://www.brainstatetech.com/affiliate_info/us/new-life-brain-center# She was and may still be the only technologist in the Dallas area. I had 10 sessions in five days. The brainwave pattern printouts she gave me showed brain changes, but in reality I had no improvement in SPD, Miso, insomnia, depression or PTSD. She called me 3 weeks later to see if there was a delayed reaction and was astonished that there was not. She discouraged further treatment and seemed genuinely disappointed for me. I was her first failure. Mike, if you experience improvement with the Miso after more sessions, I'd be interested in hearing what makes the difference between your first 10 sessions and more treatment. Thanks for your interest. Colleen > > > > Has anyone every tried going to a Brain Balance Center? I have been told that they can retrain the auditory processing part of the brain. Guest guest
Hi ,Glad you are monitoring this activity as well as the others. We should have a thread or whatever exclusively dedicated to NFB results. I am almost done with my second set of ten 1 1/2 hour sessions. That will make 30 hours total by this Wednesday. There is often a delayed reaction according to them(Brain Optimization Tech.) as the brain lays down new pathways. I don't exactly know how it works, and they admit that either do they. They just have some pretty remarkable results with many issues. I am going to just see how it goes and decide whether to continue and for how long. It's worth a shot. I have seen a marked improvement in my sleep ( decades of chronic insomnia) and my general overall mood and sense of calm and well being has greatly improved. I feel more able and confident. It is subtle and gradual, but is a wonderful feeling. However no distinguishable improvement with the sound sensitivity as yet. But being more calm has made my reaction to the triggers easier to handle. To be continued...........Heidi and anyone else doing NFB please add your comments and results!Mike To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Saturday, June 9, 2012 10:02 PM Subject: Re: Re: "Brain Balance Centers" Hi Mike,There are a few others on this board who are undergoing NFB, keep an eye out for them they may have some valuable experiences to share Hi Colleen,I am glad to hear that someone else has tried this form of NFB. Guest guest
Hi Mike,At least you are getting some results out of the treatment even though your sensitivity hasnt been touched yet. I cant create a sticky thread here due to the limitations of the yahoo group however I have created a place on the public website that you can keep track of everything. http://www.misophonia.info/Forum/viewforum.php?f=44On 10 June 2012 23:22, Lawrence wrote: Hi ,Glad you are monitoring this activity as well as the others.
