Thank you for the research. It is best to be on the cautious side. I am tired of being taken advantage of me. My opinion, I do not think a professional would state they can cure something that has not been documented many times in the past and well know to members of this group. I am grateful to have found this group.

I suspect the cancer survivor/journalist Lori Hope might be someone else. With a quick search with address I was unable to find Lori Hope, "psychologist" on the web. I am always wary of yahoo email addresses especially without a profile and the defensive reaction in her post in response to is not the type of response I would expect from professionally trained psychologist. just my 2 cents. I looked up Lori Hope and I can see she is a cancer survivor: that's fantastic. She had her wise doctors outline her options for radiation and chemo and pain meds and everything that goes into such a grueling diagnosis - and she endured the treatment.

I DO understand that if I see that there's nothing wrong with me that I can reduce much of the anticipatory emotional junk that comes with misophonia. I do that much of the time by staying active in research and by reaching out to help others. I am not damaged, I am not defined by misophonia: it's just an "is". And it has made life easier - much easier. Calming myself down has helped tremendously.

I think the something missing here is that Lori Hope had wise counsel in her doctors and she had treatment options. We don't. SO to tell me that you can "fix" me psychologically would be much more believable if Lori Hope herself had been "fixed" by a visit to a therapist and by believing in herself.

I am interested in seeing your methodology and talking to any Misophonics you have cured. I live outside San Diego.
