Guest guest
There are a lot of services in Indy, but I'm not sure about South Bend. I know it's a lot smaller than Indy. The state website (in.gov) has links, etc. Hoosier Healthwise is the name of the low-income health ins. for kids. If your child is severe enough, they may get regular Medicaid which covers more, but you have to apply for that separately, I think. There is a waiting list for Medicaid waiver which provides money for services too, again for more severe kiddos. There are several support groups, free movies, many fundraisers, etc. We love Indiana. We aren't as involved in the autism community now because our kids are on the mild side and don't need services. If you end up in Indy, let me know so I can pass on some support group contacts to you.
