Guest guest
I don't have a child with this, but my daughters both have sensory issues and wouldn't feel the need to go or if they were wet (when they were younger). I have a rule that everyone uses the potty before leaving the house in the morning (esp. important this year as my younger daughter accompanies me for 1 1/2 hr round trip every morning to drop my older daughter at her school) It is part of the morning routine and always occurs in the same place/time in the routine. I run water in the sink next to her if she is having trouble " going " . She has to see the stream of water and it has to be just the right flow so it sounds like pee. This has finally stopped being a battle after a couple of years. She will often no urinate again until bedtime (also part of the routine, same deal with the faucet) Rose ________________________________ To: Autism_in_Girls_and_Women Sent: Thursday, March 1, 2012 3:14 PM Subject: Urinary incontinence  Hi, I have a 13 year old daughter and she has daytime incontinence. We went to Mayo and they said she was a super-voider and had overflow/urge incontinence. She goes about 2-3 times during the day. When she has an accident she rarely has notice and loses total control. The doctor believes it is because of her fear of the toilet. Her fear has been an ongoing problem. We have gotten where she will walk backwards and use the toilet. It is almost impossible to get her to use the self-flushing bathrooms. He thinks that overtime she has been holding it and now it is hard to go when she tries. Thus, the overflow problem of a large amount or urine. It has been difficult for her because she has had accidents roller skating, going to Mc's, school, and at home. She currently uses depends which helps with the accidents but sometimes it goes through even those. At school she tries about every hour and they have a star chart. Usually, she isn't able to go until around 2:00 Pm. Which is along time from the night before. We are going to have a water bottle she takes to school tomorrow that might help if she drinks more water. Has anyone ever had this experience with their children or others? Any, ideas besides a schedule which she is already on. At school they are also letting her play one of her songs if she goes. She also will tell us she has gone when she hasn't and keep on a wet depends without telling anyone she had an accident. Thanks D

Guest guest
I have two kiddos with issues. My son(age 10) has gotten a lot better and has only occasional accidents now. He had polyuria(large quantity) when younger. I had Dr. Consult and tests done and once clear, we left it at that. I figured out he and his sister get increaed quantities of urine and less control, so more accidents, when their yeast is overgrown. We use a low yeast diet and supplements to treat it. When they eat too much fruit or rice, they have accidents, especially my daughter(age 7). They use a kids probiotic daily and a multi. At one point my son wore two Pullups with a Thick Serenity pad to contain leaks, so I know what you are saying. It's tough.
