I’m lucky because I can I isolate myself at work most of the time with earplugs and noise cancelling earphones playing brown noise. Some people here play their iPods. Do you have those options?

Maybe you can walk away from people who are triggering you, or put in one earplug on the side toward them. Anything that gives you control over your exposure will reduce the anxiety.

Before I wore earplugs, I would remind myself that the noises would stop after a while, and that helped immensely.

Best wishes,

Subject: How do you deal with triggers at work?

I have been out of work for quite some time due to the fibro/miso mix. The anxiety the miso causes keeps my fibro in flare. Anyone have suggestions on how they avoid being triggerred at work - when they aren't doing anything wrong but you need to either stop them from doing whatever is triggering you or leave - and you can't do either because you are at work?

I keep headphones in my bag for work and when it gets really bad I have to

listen to brown noise on my computer.

Its hard because I don't want to be seen as rude, but I need to block out the

sniffling, the " tsk " ing and the other sounds I think they don't even realize

they are making.
