Guest guest
To all, while we need to cough gunk up and out, we do not need to hack and cough if there is no sign of phlegm, or wheeze etc. Crackle, wheeze, shortness of breath, infection, feverishness with infection, rib cage and muscle pain, generally need you to cough up and out. BUT without these present etc, its not a good thing to force a cough at all. Usu=ing a puffer, or saline and so on in nebuliser, is a sure way to also know its time to cough up anything you can etc. Sputum brought up with cough generally isn,t muccous from PND either. yes you can have PND constantly going down back of throat and nose etc, BUT its not same as muccous from chest. lung etc. Most PND fluid comes up through nose and throat and definitely not lung etc. Chest pain such as ribs, pleura, diaphram , between shoulder blades etc Is similar pain to pleuracy, infected lungs etc. Pain we are discussing caused from gerd, osphagus is a definitely different pain. More a sharp pain , a dull pain, occurs when we eat, bend, or lay flat etc Sometimes feels like swallowed a golf ball and its stuck etc. Its all a very confusing learning time, and we all need to continue to learn all there is about ones self, reactions etc. What makes one cough, what triggers things like chest pain , , what happens when we eat sugary foods, dairy foods, what happens when we lay flat, bend forward in correctly, what makes us huff and puff, but for the right reasons-- how much does it help to expel after building a huffing and puffing situation. This certainly is usually a good time to try and cough something up etc. We really all MUST learn all about oursellves and record as much as possible, if only to assist you to recognise triggers etc. Yjis is also important so you can do some form of excersise, whether low impact or serious workout etc. BUT also wonderful when going to new doctors, specialists etc. Saves so much time , time we have to waste re hashing over and over. Even language barriers are often assisted with a diary . a daily. weekly , monthly record etc. Sometimes its so much clearer when you have something to look at and can see patterns etc. All just ideas for people with new dx, and family members, carers of people also. So much time saved, also nothing forgotten. Sandy
