Guest guest
Hi, To the person who asked about Estrace and breast tenderness. When I first started to use the Estrace cream (1/2 full applicator inserted 1x a week and topically to vestibule glands and inner lips skin 2 x a day) I did not notice any breast tenderness. (I am 50, but only beginning perimenopause according to my blood test). However when I stopped using the applicator and inserted the Estring (doughnut shaped ring that releases estrogen over a 3 month period), and still used the Estrace topically 2 x a day i did get some breast tenderness for about 3 weeks, and then it went away. I am currently using 1/4 applicator nightly of Estrace cream now and have had no breast tenderness. The new doctor I saw in Nov. said, that for me, he thinks the applicator is best for me right now and not to directly put in on the glands. (I had to take the Estring out because of the yeast infection i had and needed to use a antifungal cream for 7 nights and am also using boric acid capsules 2 x a day for 2 months) and you can not do that with the Estring in, so that is why he has me using the 1/4 applicator a night. Now I would have a question to throw out--some of you posted that once you finally got rid of your yeast infection you got a bacterial infection and think it was because the meds you were using for the yeast got your PH way out of wack. My last culture taken last Monday said I was neg for yeast (after testing postitive twice before in the month before). I am still using the boric acid capsules 2 x a day, but wonder if I should do that for the whole 2 months like the doc said to do. Am I taking the chance of unbalancing my Ph level too much and opening myself up for a bacterial infection? (I read where boric acid is suppose to help balance out the PH level). He said 4 months of boric acid is the usualy treatment, but he said I should just use it the 2 months. What do you guys think, should I continue to use it for the rest of the time (6 weeks left)? I will say alot of my constant burning is gone. Now what did it---that's the problem! I was using the Temovate E high potency steroid cream for 12 weeks (mixed with the Estrace cream) nightly. Did that do it???I am up to 30 mgs of Amitriptline now, is that doing it??? (I hope not as I want to get off of it in another 3 months!) I still have a bit of soreness feelings, but not like the constant burning I have had for the past 7 months. To me the skin looks the same. Sorry I'm longwinded again! Anyway if any of you have any experience with or know anything about boric acid inserted vaginally, please let me know if you think its a good ides to continue the rest of the recommended 6 weeks (2x a day).
