Guest guest
We were at a fest in another town a few weeks ago and noticed the deep fried twinkies. I'd never heard of these before. We didn't try one. Andy > um, how about this though... deep fried twinkies (gag!) That thought should > really turn you off of twinkies!!!! Or any other goodie like... princess > cake.... ummmmm. > > >
Guest guest
Fried twinkies are probably appropriate for Missouri as we rank 9th in the nation for the prevalence of obesity (stats in 2001). 22.5% are obese and 56% are overweight. Colorado is the least obese at 14.4% and Mississippi is the most obese at 25.9. You can see where your state ranks: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/obesity/trend/prev_reg.htm It is scary to see how much each state has increased since 1991. Andy > Andy: > > Fried Twinkies? Guest guest
Also check out the Power Point Presentation http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/obesity/trend/maps/index.htm Gives a good visual of where we have come from and where the nation is headed. I hope Bill and others can succeed in reversing this trend. Seeing these statistics really motivates me to keep working out and eating healthy and encourage others to do the same. Guest guest
Well Andy, leave it to you to have the website that shows how fat our nation is! And just think, those stats are 2 years old. Ohio went up .8% from 2000 to 2001, so heck we are bigger now than we were then. Eeeeeek - the horror of it all. Anne > > Andy: > > > > Fried Twinkies? Uggggh. Guest guest
We should all feel good for trying to do something about it. There is obviously a big market for counseling and educating people about BFL. Our work will never end anytime soon. Guest guest
Hey Stef, Clocks drive me bonkers. I can hear my watch tick from across the room and it will drive me nuts so I will have to move it to another room. I replaced the clock in my classroom with my own because I could hear it tick over the sound of all the children. I hadn't seen my therapist in almost a year and when I went back a few weeks ago, I immediately noticed the ticking of the clock on her wall. I thought maybe I was drawn to it because I had recently discovered 4s on the internet and thought that perhaps this knowledge made me even more aware of the noises that bother me. I asked her if that clock had always been there and she said that it was a new addition. It drove me crazy the entire session. I couldn't concentrate on anything we were talking about. When our session was up she informed me that when I came back she would even consider removing the clock for our next session. Only then did I tell her how I felt. I said, " You know, I was really mad at you throughout our session. Here I was telling you about my discovery of 4s and how these noises bothered me to no end (she new this from our other sessions but she thought it was OCD) and you didn't even ask me if if I'd like the clock removed. I was thinking that I didn't want to come back to work with you. " She thanked me for being so honest with her and she told me that she was using it as an assessment tool. Now, this therapist has helped me more than any professional has helped me before so I knew she was coming from a sincere/good place. However, the next session she did remove the clock only I could still hear it. I told her this and she said, " Oh I just don't know where to put it. It is in my desk drawer. " I informed her, " Well, I take out the batteries of my clocks at home. " I told her I would try to work through the ticking. My anxiety slowly got a bit better but I didn't feel like I accomplished anything in the session except for paying $120 to try to desensitize myself. Egads. Okay, I realize you didn't ask for me to share my experience, but I needed to get it out. Thanks for letting me blab on your post. I know that in the past crickets have bothered me but I can't remember the last time that I heard these little critters so I can't say if they still do. > > does anyone else have crickets and clocks for triggers? cannot sleep sometimes. stef >
Guest guest
Clocks drive me nuts ONLY if I'm trying to sleep. You'll find this odd, but I LOVE crickets. In fact, I can't sleep without them to the point of having a cd of chirping crickets (and other mid-western bugs)that I listen to in order to fall asleep. LOL. > > does anyone else have crickets and clocks for triggers? cannot sleep sometimes. stef >

Guest guest
omg!! how can you find crickets soothing? lol I cannot even sleep when i hear them. They are usually outside just MY window!!! They are soooo loud and they just go on for like the WHOLE night!! It's crazy! It's good for you that it's not a trigger. Where do you live if you don't have crickets every night? I live in ND so I only ave to live with them for like 3 or 4 months at the greatest. Even as I am writing this there is a clock and it is very annoting. That is why I am jamming out with music :-) Stef > > > > does anyone else have crickets and clocks for triggers? cannot sleep sometimes. stef > > >

Guest guest
Ha - I've been greeted by that same scene at my house many times (my son has 4S) - never knowing when a clock will be found on the floor with the battery taken out, or just simply vanishes! That was a few years ago and we haven't had any ticking clocks in the house for a long time now. I came downstairs this morning to find our wall clock upside down on the floor with it's battery removed! My son had woken up earlier than everyone and couldn't stand the ticking. I guess it's time to go all digital... Guest guest
I am 28yrs old and 4 months pregnant. I 'believe' I'm at the end of EN that lasted just shy of 3 weeks. The dermatologist suggested I stop taking prenatal vitamins and diet pop. The problem seemed to resolve itself within 24hrs. It was also the first time I had just rested and elevated my legs. Rheumatoid arthritis has been mentioned several times, but I cant be tested until after my pregnancy. I'm not sure if it was the rest, or eliminating prenatals and diet pop that cleared me up.
