Guest guest
Hi , Thanks so much for sharing your story. I am horrified at the treatment and harassment you received at the hands of the health department and ignorant pediatricians. No, you are not a paranoid mom.....vaccines are at best completely useless, have never prevented any disease and they cause enumerable acute and chronic health problems. My daughter was severely brain damaged by a vaccine I received while I was pregnant and then by a Hep B I specifically told them NOT to give her in the hospital after she was born. I woke up pretty quickly and will never allow another vaccine under any circumstances. All of the symptoms you describe in your children are vaccine-related....neurological, behavioral, gastrointestinal. I wouldn't give your kids any more vaccines, but that's a decision only you can make. Please know that Miralax is NOT safe and can be quite dangerous if used for longer than a few days, if atall. personally I would never use it. Two weeks is the limit given even by the manufacturer. Polyethylene glycol, the active ingredient in Miralax, is not*supposed* to be absorbed by the body, since it is toxic, but those who have gut problems, such as leaky gut (common in our kids and people with chronic constipation, IBS, colitis, etc.) can experience Miralax toxicity. If PEG enters the bloodstream, it can cause cerebral salt-wasting and renal (kidney) toxicity. This can cause a whole host of very serious neurological effects, including seizures, severe tics, slurred speech, inability to control the bowels due to loss of neurological control, urinary problems, psychological and behavioral issues, and many more. There is even a whole Yahoo group dedicated to Miralax poisoning. It's really Russian Roulette. If it's not absorbed it, then you might escape Miralax toxicity. But is it really worth that risk to your child's health? There are many safer alternatives to Miralax. Vitamin C and magnesium are two that work very well, and there are many others. My daughter also experienced signs of early puberty, but didn't start menstruating until age 12. She handled it much better than I had ever imagined, so you may be surprised when the time comes. I was told by numerous people she would act " crazy " from the hormones and I would beg for medication, etc. I saw none of that. All the kids react differently. I mostly attribute it to many years of homeopathy and targeted supplementation that has kept her off prescription drugs and making excellent, steady progress. I don't plan to alter her cycle with hormones or other means, as she is doing fine naturally. She is not considered " high functioning " and really has no understanding of what her cycle means, but she has accepted it because I was very calm about it and we practiced a lot. She takes cues from me and since I didn't freak, neither did she. There is a lot of great help here, so I hope you will take solace in that and know we are all in this together. :-) > My Name is , I have been a lurker on this group for a while now, I > guess I should put my story out there > > I have 4 children... Guest guest
I did not know that about the miralax. I will have to look into that, we just restarted a regime of miralax (actually we are supposed to start today J ) but, I'm hopeing once we get them straightened back out we can do it with high fiber instead. but we will see I forgot to mention in the below, that Kayden (the 2 year old that I stopped shots at a year old) has a milk allergy do you think that could be related? I'm glad you daughter didn't have any problems with the menstruation, I am still very nervous about how Kendra will react, we still have a few years yet I hope, but then again I started my period at 9 years old, so I guess we will just have to see. Have you attempted potty training? Was it successful? If so what did you do? I would love to make some ground in the potty training department with Kendra. Thanks for the reassurance J From: Autism_in_Girls_and_Women [mailto:Autism_in_Girls_and_Women ] On Behalf Of cathylynn2 Sent: Friday, April 13, 2012 9:07 AM To: Autism_in_Girls_and_Women Subject: Re: Hello, This is my Story Hi , Thanks so much for sharing your story. Guest guest
Yes, milk, peanut allergies, asthma, etc are all vaccine related. It took 7 years to potty train but she finally got it and has never regressed in that area. Just keep at it. I was very relaxed about he whole thing, modeled the behavior for her and gave her lots of encouragement always. None of the " programs " worked because she felt forced and I even had someone come to the house who promised me she would be potty trained in one weekend. Didn't work. Ultimately, it had to be her choice on her terms, and she just decided one day and that was it. What a celebration that was! Other may have specific strategies that worked, but what works for my daughter is modeling, picture schedules calendars and consistency in a relaxed way. > I did not know that about the miralax. Guest guest
I agree with about miralax. If a child is chronically constipated there is a reason for it you just have to figure what Is causing the constipation. First of all look at the diet, is the child eating lots of dairy? Casein the main protein and gluten can cause constipation, allergy symptoms such as congestion, constant sneezing among other things. If the child is on a GFCF diet and still is constipated, some things to consider is increasing the fiber in diet. Fiber from crest fruits and vegetables ( organic if possible). There is a product that is called gentle fiber by Jarrow that promotes good bacteria growth which is what our kids need. One important point to make is that when you increase fiber the fluid intake also needs to increase and I don't mean juices but water if possible because this will help the fiber to pass the digestive system easily and remove toxic waste there. Also this needs to be given 1-2 hrs before and after vitamins, supplements, and any medication.
