Guest guest
I am a female with Autism the Aspergers Kind from Charlotte, North Carolina I am in NEED OF HELP 1. I am wondering How Can I get Jeans because all of my jeans have holes in them my parents will not help me, I am unemployed and have no money to get jeans I REALLY NEED JEANS putting an ad on Craigs list will not help because no one responds off of Craigs list. I do not know of anyone from a Church or an organization that will help me have Jeans because the forms for Organizations require that a Parent fill out the form requiring the assistance for Jeans. I am also VERY EXTREMELY SUPER OBESE and my Plus size 36 Requires a Specialty shop for clothes for Very extremely super obese people because places like Salvation army and Goodwill only Carry sizes Ranging from Size 8-18 2. I am Feeling at a Lost because all of my Jeans have holes in them 3. Can someone send someone to check on my Well Being because I really Need some Jeans because all of my Jeans have holes in them because my parents will not help me and I am Unemployed and Have no money for Jeans Channing

Guest guest
I don't think so. Channing is a woman with high functioning Asperger's. A number of kind members in this group have tried to give Channing supportive and constructive advice, but sadly, she isn't at a point where she's ready to follow through. Obviously, this on-line forum is not the best place to obtain real help for her real problems. Sent from my iPhone - S. Guest guest
No, it's not a joke, Joan. Channing, it's not a good thing to post asking for help & asking for money from strangers, which we are to you. Apparently, we aren't able to help you through emails & you need someone locally to help you. Maybe you can allow someone you trust to post in your name to explain your situation from their perspective. Posting your address & personal info can be dangerous since the internet can be open to anyone. Even though this is an autism group, it doesn't guarantee that it's totally safe. Can you post about what you enjoy doing, what makes you happy, what you do during the day? Guest guest
I do not have the adequate funds at all for for getting my basic needs like Jeans because my parents will not help me get Jeans and I am unemployed and get no money for Jeans at all but if I go in to a Group home they call the police on me when I Get upset because they will not help me with transportation problems for buses that do not run, Group homes Tell my parents that it is against the other Clients Rights if I am on a Diet My parents want me on a Diet because I am morbidly obese, They insist I Function or be Treated at the same level as everyone who are in the Group home Like for for example I have Aspergers and most people in a group home have a lower functioning level then a person with aspergers and Group homes are a business where they expect everyone to be the same level and in a Group home I would only get $60.00 a month to spend the Rest of the money goes for paying a Huge amount of Rent , A Group home will not help me Get Clothes at all because the Group home expects a person to pay their way to go out to eat when the group home goes out to eat , a Group home expects the people to pay their way for Bowling when the group home goes bowling, a Group home expects their people to pay for their way at the movie theater when the group home goes to the movies, A group home expects the Clients to pay for toiletries like Bar soap, Sanitary Napkins, shampoo, Toothpaste, Deodorant, powder etc.. that you need in toiletries, the group home expects Clients to pay their way for their Hair cuts and Bus Rides- in a Group home I would not get the money for Clothes or Jeans either even though they expect the Client to pay for their Clothes or Jeans, At times the Staff in a Group home Yell also and they Call the Police on me when I get upset because I am upset because the Staff person is Yelling at me. Either Way Living independently and living in a Group home I would not get the money at all for Jeans because I am unemployed and because my parents will not help me have Jeans also. > > > Is this some kind of joke??! > > > > > > ________________________________ > > > > To: Autism_in_Girls_and_Women > > Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2012 9:53 AM > > Subject: Hello Everyone-Questions I have > > > > > > > > I am a female with Autism the Aspergers Kind from Charlotte, North > > Carolina I am in NEED OF HELP > > 1. Remember, these are cross-postings, and the identical messages have been posted all over the autie/aspie community for years. The supportive and constructive advice to which you refer has been offered by many people, yet doesn't seem to bear much fruit. Moreover, several kind individuals have invested the time to actually phone various resources in Channing's local area on her behalf so that she might get set up with assistance. For whatever reason, Channing does not seem able to follow through with these contacts. Her family is quite distressed that she continues to ask for material and financial help via the internet, and this results in conflict at home. Although Channing has pledged to her family that she will cease posting these requests for material and financial assistance from strangers, the posts continue nonetheless. I have finally come to the conclusion that Channing expects the assistance to be hand-delivered to her door, with little or no effort on her part. Her posts have also become a source of contention in various groups, as many others are struggling in the current financial climate just trying to hold onto a job and keep a roof over their heads. Thus, Channing's repeated requests for 'needs' that most people would regard as minor inconveniences have not always been well received. This has prompted some group owners to moderate or ban Channing's posts as being inappropriate and contrary to the group's mission. Guest guest
Thanks for the info, CJ. I'm glad to hear that she has family that's involved & she is being looked after, albeit, not as much as SHE feels she needs. I guess some people feels like the world owes them & not do for themselves or even offer to help others. She just doesn't get it, and may not be capable of getting it. My impression is that her extreme self-focus on her own needs and severe theory-of-mind deficits are just part of her autism. I doubt if she understands the effect that her words have on others, and how disappointing it can be for those who have invested time in her, only to see no evidence of effort made. I really believe that she is a good person. Yet given the history of her exchanges with others over the years, it does not appear that she is capable of learning from even the most explicit and frank feedback with respect to her pleas for help. Occasionally she may say that she understands, yet the pattern only repeats itself once again... and again... and again. Not only is it very frustrating for those who try to help, the repeated postings suck in new generations of members who may not realize that their time and energy may be wasted if they too travel down the same 'helping' road. Guest guest
Thanks CJ. I guess I'll just not read her post anymore. Too bad someone couldn't keep us updated on her status periodically so, like you said, new generations of members don't get sucked into all of this again. Marie > > > Thanks for the info, CJ.
