Guest guest
Dear Colin I would love to hear your report of the lecture given by McIntyre. Did you interpret the points that he made differently? Whilst I am sure most herbalists would agree with you that has spent a great deal of time and effort working for what he believes is the right course for herbalists, it does not represent my views or many other herbalists views and I believe we have a right to voice our opinions or in this case an understanding of what was said. We also are a group of herbalists who have worked extremely hard on a voluntary basis, both within NIMH and now as Independent herbalists. We have continuely fought for open communication channels, factual, truthful information and discussion of all view points, are you aware of this? Having been appalled by much of what we have encountered and found out through sheer hard work, faced such disrespectful attitudes such as yours and now at a point when we will be criminilised, herbal medicines will be taken away from the people, I believe we should all be concerned about the path that is being trodden. Are you aware of the historical path towards state regulation from all view points and the fact for example that herbalists have never voted for protection of function or the difference this makes? Are you aware of the consequences of THMPD and subsequent UK legislation in October 2005 and how members of NIMH were told that THMPD would not affect us but only concerned OTC medicines, that it was a good, needed change? I look forward to hearing your views about the lecture and proposed regulations in general.
