Guest guest
Good Morning, Can someone tell me if I have a patient that has a group health insurance that is primary due to ESRD and the 30 month coordination ends 5/1/2014, but the patient will turn 65 in Jan of 2013, (before the 30 month coordination ends). Will Medicare then become primary due to her age? Guest guest
Does the patient have Medicare B also? If not, she should take that then she turns 65 – otherwise she will have the 10% per year increased Medicare B premium for life. But she should also check with Social Security to see if she will have the B premium penalty if she waits until 65. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ms. Daryl Battin, MSW/LICSW Financial Coordinator/Social Worker Department of Transplantation Lahey Clinic, 41 Mall Road, Burlington MA 01805 Ph: Page: FAX: Q Please consider the environment before printing this email From: TxFinancialCoordinators [mailto:TxFinancialCoordinators ] On Behalf Of Woodward, L Sent: Tuesday, January 31, 2012 8:30 AM To: TxFinancialCoordinators Subject: RE: ESRD Coordination of benefits No, she is still required to complete the 30 month COB due to ESRD.
