Guest guest
Dialysis is a part B service, so this is correct. Deidra M. I have a scenario I'm not sure what to do about. We have a patient that is now past their 30 month Coordination Period. They have Part A only. Their insurance is still paying full for dialysis treatment, but is this a mistake? Or because he has part A (and Medicare should be primary now) will his insurance not consider themselves secondary payer? I hope that makes sense. I'm not sure how to advise this patient. Guest guest
Well since it's not open enrollment anymore he cannot sign up for Part B at this time correct? And once Medicare corrects this, he will have only 20% coverage for dialysis correct? Or do I have this wrong? Thanks you guys! Guest guest
Sounds like his policy does not stipulate the payer will be secondary for all services at the end of the COB period. In his case then, A is primary for hospital services, and the group plan is primary for Part B-type services until/unless he enrolls in B on Transplant Financial Coordinator Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital Legacy Transplant Services 1040 NW 22nd Ave Ste 480 Portland OR 97210 direct main office toll-free fax lmorriso@...
